00:00Day one of New York Jets training camp is in the books and there were a lot of
00:05positive takeaways to look through. But first we have to address the elephant in
00:09the room. Hassan Reddick continues to be a no-show for Jets training camp. He will
00:14be fined $50,000 for every single mispractice. This is due in large part to
00:19the fact that he's looking for a long-term extension. The Jets refused to
00:22negotiate with him until he shows up to Jets practices. Reddick wants a new deal
00:27so we remain at a standstill between both parties. On the field though there
00:32are plenty of positive takeaways, none more so than wide receiver Alan Lazard.
00:36There is an argument to be made that Lazard was the best offensive player on
00:41the field for the Jets today. Caught a touchdown pass to end practice in red
00:44zone. He also had a great 20-yard reception to begin 11-on-11 work caught
00:49from Aaron Rodgers. He was very confident today, looked really solid. The standout
00:54on the defensive end though has to be Leakey Fotu, the defensive tackle
00:58formerly of the Arizona Cardinals. He's coming in as a run stuffer and he
01:02stuffed plenty of run plays, one in particular during the second team of 11-on-11
01:06drill. He looked really solid there. Also came away with a couple of
01:10pressures as well on Tyrod Taylor. He's a player that not many people are
01:14talking about but certainly could have an impact on the Jets defense for the
01:192024 season. Those two are the big takeaways for today. We'll be back at
01:23training camp tomorrow for more on Jets coverage. Turn to Athlon Sports and
