00:00 Is there really such a thing as addition by subtraction?
00:06 I'm Mike Fisher on the AFC and moves this offseason that have been impactful for contenders.
00:12 Let's start in Kansas City where Travis Kelsey gets the new two year extension and
00:16 the fun argument about whether or not he's the goat of all time.
00:20 Think about it this way what the Chiefs have done and
00:23 this includes the Taylor Swift story as well.
00:26 Distractions in Kansas City, supposed distractions have actually been strengths.
00:32 Drama has actually been used as fuel for
00:36 the Chiefs as they go win two straight Super Bowls.
00:39 Meanwhile, let's go to Buffalo.
00:41 Subtractions and additions, digs no longer there.
00:46 They won't make up very easily and very quickly in Buffalo for
00:50 that talent void, but addition and subtraction.
00:55 That's where that formula comes into play.
00:58 In Cleveland, the big move obviously is to get Deshaun Watson on the field all
01:03 the time, every time, not unlike the situation in Pittsburgh where they are
01:08 trying to get past some drama at quarterback and hope they don't have more
01:11 drama now as Russell Wilson should be the number one guy and
01:15 Justin Fields should be the number two guy and coach Mike Tomlin is talking about
01:19 pole position.
01:20 Yes, we've got Russell Wilson in pole position as the number one guy.
01:24 You want competition, but you don't want distractions.
01:28 And then the addition in New York to a Jets roster that might be almost as
01:34 good as there is in the AFC, it's really about bodyguards for Aaron Rodgers.
01:39 The addition of Aaron Rodgers, who played for the Jets for like a minute,
01:45 now he's added hopefully full time and able to be upright.
01:48 There is also of course drama as it relates to Aaron Rodgers,
01:51 that's part of the package there too.
01:53 Can you take the drama and move it into a positive?
01:58 Can you take the subtraction and move it into an addition?
02:02 That's the challenge for those five AFC contenders.
02:05 Fish out.
