Life-long Giants fan Nick Kostos has some choice words for his head coach after watching "hard Knocks"
Transcript
00:00like a segment on the show. I hate, I actually hate that this is what I've become, but it beats the
00:04alternative of being dead. Um, but as I get older, I, I feel like I am a boomer. I actually feel like
00:11I am a big time boomer. It has happened. I don't do it as a shtick. This is actually how I feel.
00:16And I, I have to get this off my chest as it concerns, as it concerns Hard Knocks last night.
00:21I was so fricking bothered watching this last night. So this is the fourth episode of Hard
00:26Knocks, right? And in this episode, it's like the Giants are trying to figure out, you know,
00:30who they're going to, who they're going to draft. And they have all the, um, the top 30 prospects,
00:34every team can have third up to 30 prospects come to their building, right? For like face-to-face
00:38meetings. And the Giants had a bunch of quarterbacks come in. They had like a whiteboard
00:42session with Drake May. That was pretty cool. And I think probably the most compelling part
00:45of the episode, they had the three top wide receivers in the draft, Marvin Harrison,
00:49Malik Neighbors, who they eventually took with the sixth overall pick and Roma Dunzey are all
00:53there at the same time on the same day. They're doing film breakdown together. And then Dable and
00:59Joe Shane and Shane's office gets to interview all three of them. And in the interviews with
01:04Malik Neighbors, who the Giants eventually ended up drafting again and Roma Dunzey, Brian Dable,
01:10who like my coach, who, by the way, Brian Dable's 49 years old. He turns 50 next year. Brian Dable
01:19is sitting there, PJ, with his feet up on the desk, literally show him walking into the room,
01:25this slob, and I'm not even talking about his weight, but he's a slob, right? The beard is
01:29gross. He's kind of slovenly, right? Like that just kind of is what it is. Like I loved it when
01:33he was coach of the year. Didn't love it last year when the team was an absolute disgrace.
01:37You can get away with looking like a slob and putting your feet up on the goddamn table when
01:41you win coach of the year. And you're one of the final four teams in the conference, not after last
01:45year. So Brian Dable literally walks into the room, sits down on the couch, and puts his feet
01:50up on the table like he's me at seven years old. Like kindergarten kids do this. He's interviewing
01:58Roma Dunzey. Roma Dunzey, one of like the most well-spoken, like brightest NFL prospects in a
02:03long time. And Dunzey's looking at Dable, who's got his feet up with his gut hanging out and like
02:08his like hands clasped on his gut, gets like a balance a drink on his gut. And Dunzey's probably
02:14looking at him like, what's this guy's deal? Like later in the episode, John Mara, the owner of the
02:20Giants is in the room and Dable's got his feet up on the desk. I mean, like, can we be professional?
02:26Can we at least like try to be professional like the cameras are in the room? Like I get it. He's
02:31not the CEO of a fortune 500 company. He doesn't have to wear a suit to work. I'm not saying that,
02:35but I mean, like who does that? Like what adult male like puts their feet up on the table? Who
02:42does that? Like, can we have some decorum in life, please? Brian Dable. You get away with
02:48it when you win games, not when you lose. Am I a boomer? Yes or no? I think it's a fair take. I
02:56think it's totally fair. I wonder if Dable was doing it just because he was trying to make Rome
03:00feel comfortable. You know, like if he was just trying, it was like two bros sitting around because
03:05that is like the biggest job interview in Rome's life, right? Obviously he wants to make a good
03:09impression and maybe Dable just, but don't you like, but if it were me, I would want, I would
03:16want to make Roma Doonzay feel uncomfortable and see how he reacts. Like when he's like,
03:21like when it was an interview, like to be friends, like just spend the high draft capital.
03:26You got to make sure the guy's good. Like we'll make him feel relaxed. That's not your job.
03:30It's Roma Doonzay's job to prove to you that he's the guy, not your job to make him feel good.
03:35What are we talking about here? Like this, we are such like a soft society. This is insane to me.
