Watch: China tests next-gen rocket engine for lunar mission
China has conducted a long-range test for the three-stage hydrogen-oxygen engine that will power the new generation rocket designed to send astronauts to the moon.
The test took place at China's first vertical high-altitude simulation stand, developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), which can simulate high-altitude conditions for engines in a vacuum environment and sustain tests for thousands of seconds.
