00:00Hi, I'm Duncan McGregor. I'm one of the owners of Cafe in the Park and it's located in the
00:06Pensfold Centre in Gaines Park, Shrewsbury. How long have you been here, Duncan?
00:11Just over a month now. And what was here before?
00:16There's been various things. The most recent tenant was an electrician, Lings Electrical.
00:23And what was the idea of turning it into a cafe?
00:27We live locally and it's on the school runs. We drop our kids off at the Oxford School and we
00:34thought it'd be an ideal place to open a cafe. We found out previously it's also been a cafe
00:39many, many years ago alongside a bakery. It's got a very lovely homely feel to it.
00:44What was the idea and inspiration behind that? We just wanted somewhere that we felt the
00:50Gaines Park community and the wider community to come and sit, relax and just enjoy a cup of tea
00:55and a slice of cake. What other things have you got on up here, food-wise and drink-wise?
01:00We're pretty much doing everything now. We've got breakfasts, full English breakfasts.
01:05We've got breakfast wraps, jacket potatoes, sandwiches, paninis and homemade cakes by the
01:13team and my wife as well. And how has the local community adapted to you being here?
01:20Yeah, it seems to be very well received. We've already got a number of regular customers who
01:24come in for a breakfast or a coffee every day and we're getting a lot of positive feedback.
