00:00And, Alan, before I let you go, I am curious to hear your side of this argument.
00:06Some Republicans have said that for Democrats being what they call themselves as the party
00:11of democracy, Joe Biden had the primary votes here, and they feel that they're replacing
00:19him with someone who voters did not select in the primary.
00:23What's your argument to that?
00:25Well, I think they have a point.
00:27I think this was not a grand exercise in democracy, but it pales in comparison to Donald Trump's
00:35threat to democracy, who's, you know, he organized an insurrection.
00:40He's a multiple convicted felon.
00:43He's a civilly convicted sexual assaulter, colloquially rapist, I can go on and on.
00:48And he promised to govern like his buddy, Viktor Orban in Hungary, which means snuffing
00:53out the political opposition.
00:55And unfortunately to my friends like you in the media, snuffing out the free press.
01:00So yeah, but this is a bit, you know, much worse than the pot calling the kettle black.
01:06Come on.
01:07The party of authoritarianism has a point, but only to a small point.
01:12Alan, when I was lucky enough to speak with you a few weeks ago, you suggested a plan
01:17be if President Biden weren't or were to step down.
01:20And that would be he resigned the presidency immediately and have Vice President Kamala
01:25Harris become the president.
01:27Do you think that that would happen?
01:28A and B, do you do you still think that's the best plan forward?
01:34I always thought that was the best plan, at least so far.
01:37It's not going to happen.
01:39But I'm hoping for the Democrats sake that they adopt the other half of my plan B, which
01:47was to form a consensus around the nomination of Harris.
01:51If they do that, they've at least listened to me 50 percent.
01:54And I consider that pretty good.
01:57And when you're looking between now and the convention come August, what are you looking
02:03out for the most in terms of these 13 candidates?
