00:00Hi Pepsers, welcome to GMA Gala 2024 and tonight we are with the very beautiful
00:07Hello, how are you?
00:09Do you know how to speak Filipino now?
00:12I'm learning, I only know a little bit of Tagalog, but I want to learn.
00:18That's great!
00:19I've been following your Instagram and I see you like wandering around
00:25different places here in Manila, even including Divisoria.
00:29Divisoria, Pateros, Balut, I don't know, I don't know.
00:36Also, I went to Siargao and Bohol.
00:41What else?
00:43So, Tangkudarat.
00:45So, I've been exploring a lot.
00:47I just love the Philippines.
00:48Everything is so exciting for me and I'm just very curious.
00:51So, you have no qualms like going to even the places that are super hot.
00:56We have warm weather now, right?
00:59Yeah.
01:00It's so hot, but I grew up in Texas, so it's very hot also.
01:05So, I'm used to it actually.
01:07How about the crowded places?
01:10It's hot, but I still like it.
01:12Divisoria is fun because I'm a designer and so I love to be able to make thawar and buy fabrics.
01:19To me, it's like you can't really do that where I'm from in the States.
01:22You just go to the store and pay.
01:24So, Divisoria is very fun for me.
01:26And I love that you really make customized clothes for whatever, like even your content on Instagram.
01:34Yes, thank you for watching.
01:36Yes, I'm actually working on a collection.
01:38So, I have a fashion show at the end of August.
01:41I've gone to the Ukay-Ukay and I'm upcycling a lot of pieces.
01:45So, very excited for that.
01:47You're so creative.
01:48Thank you.
01:50So, what made you decide to stay here?
01:53Are you staying here for a long?
01:55Are you considering pursuing a show this career?
01:59Yes, I have actually always dreamed of living in the Philippines even before I did the whole Miss Universe thing.
02:06I wanted to move to the Philippines.
02:08I was planning it and the pandemic happened.
02:10So, the plans got canceled.
02:12I took a different route.
02:13But I'm here now and I'm really loving it.
02:15I'm working doing hosting, modeling jobs, endorsements.
02:18I'm very, very thankful for the opportunities here.
02:20And I'm going to be here for a long time.
02:22I basically am living here now.
02:24Do you think you can try out acting?
02:27I think so.
02:28But I think I need to learn more Tagalog first.
02:32Okay.
02:33So, anything that you've bought for yourself recently that you really like?
02:38Recently, I went to Pina Sadya.
02:41That's a local designer here that incorporates a lot of weaving.
02:45So, the clothing was really beautiful and it was carrying on the traditional textiles.
02:50I've been buying…
02:54I'm trying in Tagalog.
02:55I've been buying a lot of fabric as well.
02:58I love that you always incorporate tradition or the culture in what you're doing.
03:04Yes.
03:05I mean, it's just my passion.
03:07And I'm learning so much more now that I'm living here.
03:09So, I'm really enjoying that.
03:12Thank you so much.
03:13And nice to see you in person.
03:14Nice to finally meet you.
03:19Thank you.
