00:00Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s brave and courageous advance
00:06in his State of the Nation Address yesterday.
00:09What struck him the most were the Philippines' right to the West Philippine Sea
00:14and the implementation of the Pogo operation in the country.
00:17Simela Lasmora with the report.
00:22The third State of the Nation Address of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
00:30One of the President's pronouncements that caught the attention
00:34was his declaration of a total ban on all Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators or POGOs in the country.
00:42Some lawmakers were delighted to hear the President in public.
00:47I am very happy and full of hope
00:51because it seems that the President is listening to our prayers.
00:56He finally banned POGOs, illegal or legal, stop operations by the end of the year.
01:03And we're so very hopeful and happy about that.
01:06It will now put an end to the rising criminality caused by these POGOs here in the country.
01:13I expected, because like I said, the President is always listening to people
01:21and it looks like it's clamor of not only the Senate and Congress
01:26but also the people of the country.
01:28That's why the President took action.
01:30Aside from this, the President also reiterated
01:33the unchanging position of the country in the West Philippine Sea.
01:37The Commander-in-Chief also recognized the sacrifices of our troops
01:42to protect our territories.
01:46It is heartwarming and gives us the spirit to fight for our rights
01:53under the law and under the protection of our defense.
02:02We are very happy with what the President said earlier
02:07about the modernization of the Armed Forces of the Philippines
02:12and the continuous cooperation between our allies and partners.
02:22That is what we will be commanded by the members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
02:28And we are also thankful to our President and our fellow countrymen
02:34for what we are doing in the West Philippine Sea.
02:37The other members of the Cabinet also highlighted
02:40the other plans and programs laid out by the President,
02:44particularly in the areas of agriculture, education, health, and employment.
02:51It's perfect.
02:53You will really see that he knows what is happening in this country.
02:59And you can see that he is not an armchair executive.
03:03He brings government closer to the people.
03:06When he highlighted the topic of agriculture,
03:09it only shows the public, or later on,
03:13that agriculture is very important to the President, and he emphasized this.
03:17We are very welcome, especially when it comes to strengthening the infrastructure,
03:22providing additional benefits to the health,
03:27strengthening our education system,
03:29because the bottom line is that it helps the workers and their families.
03:33So we are very welcome,
03:35and we want to see that we can make an important contribution
03:40to the dreams and goals of our President.
