00:00Can I start ranting or not?
00:01Please.
00:02I'll wait for you.
00:03Just wait just a moment.
00:05Hold it in.
00:06Hold him back.
00:06Hold him back.
00:07We told you about all the uproar over this Adidas campaign
00:10with Bella Hadid because it was for a throwback
00:15shoe from the 72 Olympics in Munich,
00:18where the Israeli athletes were kidnapped, held hostage,
00:23and then murdered by terrorists, Palestinian terrorists.
00:27So we've told you that Adidas apologized for this
00:30to the public, saying we are so sorry that we did this.
00:35Well, because they put Bella Hadid
00:36in as the kind of ambassador to this.
00:40And Bella is Palestinian.
00:42And so the question is, to me, how in the world?
00:46OK, look, we're going to get to the Bella part.
00:49But the Adidas part is, I think some clown in their publicity
00:53department said, oh, I've got an idea.
00:55We can honor the Munich Olympics and the Israelis
00:58that were killed and bring the Palestinian part in, too.
01:01So we're trying to please everybody.
01:03I don't even know if they, let's put it this way.
01:07They should have known.
01:08They obviously should have known.
01:09And Bella Hadid is basically saying that they should have
01:12known, and they shouldn't have put her in this situation.
01:15We broke story over the weekend that she is now lawyered up
01:18and is considering taking legal action against Adidas
01:21for putting her in this position.
01:23So the position, then, the predicate is,
01:26I didn't know this happened in Munich.
01:27That she didn't know, and you've heard the Adidas people
01:30acting like they, I mean, everyone should have known.
01:35And if they didn't know, it's on them.
01:37We should say, so what, but from the Adidas side of it,
01:40what they were, the shoe that they were doing an homage to,
01:44it's called the SL 72.
01:46It's a super light shoe.
01:47They introduced it for Olympic athletes in 1972.
01:51So maybe that's all they were thinking.
01:54Oh, come on, Charles.
01:55But you're right, but they should have known
01:57more than that.
01:58You can't just say, oh, we introduced the shoe in 72.
02:00You've got to know that when you introduced it,
02:04there was a horrific event that happened.
02:05I think they knew that, and I think that's why
02:07they brought Bella in, because they figured,
02:09okay, this balances it out.
02:10It will please everybody, and it pleases no one.
02:13But the idea that Bella Hadid is saying,
02:16I didn't know, so they screwed me over.
02:19You should know.
02:20You signed a contract, and what happened to your people?
02:24You have lawyers.
02:25You have publicists.
02:26You have agents, and they're looking at what your managers
02:30and your family, and they're looking at what
02:33you're about to do, and nobody says, hey, Bella,
02:38you should know what happened at the 72 Olympics.
02:40It appears that Adidas is at least concerned
02:44about the possibility of a lawsuit,
02:46because they issued another apology,
02:48this time more directly to Bella Hadid and others
02:52who were part of this campaign.
02:54They said, connections continue to be made
02:55to the terrible tragedy that occurred at the Munich Olympics
02:58due to our recent SL-72 campaign.
03:02These connections are not meant,
03:03and we apologize for any upset or distress caused.
03:07We made an unintentional mistake.
03:09We also apologize to our partners,
03:11Bella Hadid, A$AP Nas, Jules Conde, and others
03:14for any negative impact on them,
03:16and we are revising the campaign.
03:18Please, they knew.
03:19That's ridiculous.
03:21Sorry.
03:22Yeah, what they're calling a mistake
03:23is just a miscalculation, right?
03:24They knew exactly what they were doing,
03:26and they just miscalculated.
03:27You're not buying what you're selling there.
03:30I mean, that you didn't know.
03:32So all of Adidas didn't know.
03:34All of Bella Hadid's team didn't know.
03:36Right, that's the thing that doesn't.
03:37It's insane.
03:38You're right, and I get it.
03:39If someone who came up with the idea that said,
03:42oh, let's pay homage to the SL-72 that we introduced
03:46in 72 at the Olympics,
03:47but then someone else in the company, someone.
03:50Someone.
03:51Taps them on the shoulder and goes,
03:52listen, before you do that, here's what you should know.
03:55But see, here's what.
03:55Maybe one person didn't know.
03:57Why did they pick Bella, Charles?
03:59Why did they pick Bella?
04:00Because she's a Palestinian-American.
04:02Yes!
04:02That's why they picked Bella.
04:03Adidas knew what they were doing,
04:06and if Bella didn't, it's on her.
04:08But that is.
04:09But hold on.
04:10They knew.
04:11Charles, they.
04:12Yes, it should be on her, but boy, that is really.
04:14If Adidas intentionally.
04:16They did.
04:17Picked a Palestinian-American.
04:18That's what they did.
04:19In reference to a shoe that was introduced
04:21where Palestinian terrorists killed people.
04:25That's a horrible thing.
04:27Because they're thinking we can please everybody
04:29by balancing it.
04:30Like I said, miscalculation.
04:31Not a mistake, a miscalculation.
04:33And they gotta own up to that.
04:35I mean, I guess they're trying to apologize
04:38and issue me a culpas, and I do think they're sorry,
04:40but they're sorry because they got nailed,
04:43and not because they thought in advance it was a mistake.
04:46My name is Emily Broxton Cirillo,
04:48calling in from Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania,
04:50and I totally agree.
04:52I think that it is the responsibility of the model,
04:55in this case, Bella Hadid,
04:56to know exactly what she and her management company
04:59are signing to be a part of.
05:01But in this case,
05:02we should be taking a closer look at Adidas,
05:03because I think they knew exactly what they were doing.
05:06This is not a coincidence.
05:07Absolutely.
05:13Adidas.
05:14Adidas.
