00:00Hello everyone.
00:13We are going to make breakfast burritos.
00:17As preparation for doing this, I pre-cooked my bacon and my sausage.
00:23My hands are clean since I just touched that.
00:26I scrambled eggs and have them in a bowl, topped up, and have them cooling.
00:32This is the burrito size tortillas.
00:36I just get them from, um, not Kroger, I know it says Kroger, but these came from, if you're
00:44going to be doing a bunch, getting them from Sam's here, that's the low, you know, that's
00:50the cheapest, or the best bang for your buck, I guess I should say.
00:55So, put a little bit of scrambled eggs in here.
00:58You need to remember to be careful and not overfill your stuffing part because then they
01:07won't close.
01:08Of course, I'm just using, this is cold bacon, I'm just using tongs to keep my fingers somewhat
01:15clean.
01:16So, then you're just going to roll it up like you would a regular burrito.
01:20Now, when we first made them, we put salsa in them, too, but we have since found out
01:27that not, they don't, not to put the salsa in, so.
01:32Have this one rolled up, I'm going to set it over here on the plate here, and just keep
01:41making these.
01:45These are nice to have in the freezer.
01:47I freeze them, and then Paul eats them for breakfast, okay, once or twice a week, not
01:55too often, but it just, it's nice to give him a break from his oatmeal, or, has he eaten
02:03oatmeal, or dry cereal, or whatever he's doing, happens to be doing that week, or that day.
02:11So, this just means since he doesn't need dairy, because it makes, gives him issues,
02:19you can't just buy sausage, sausage and egg, or bacon and egg only burritos, usually they
02:26have cheese in them also, so.
02:30And with them only having bacon and sausage and an egg, that means that Princess can eat
02:37them also, because she's allergic to dairy.
02:40We found that out by giving her puppy, um, puppy ice cream that was cheese and peanut
02:46butter flavored, and it gave her hives, so, no puppy, no puppy ice cream for her anymore.
02:54And of course, this is a great, uh, if you have everything at home to do, to, you know,
03:04make your burritos, or, this is a, something to do if you, we here in Memphis are currently
03:12still in, well, for a little bit longer, we have an ice storm warning, it has been icy,
03:19and snowy, and yucky here since, Monday night?
03:24Uh, yeah.
03:25Monday night.
03:26I'm enjoying my vacation, so.
03:27Yeah.
03:28I just remember when it, yeah, Noah says he's enjoying his vacation.
03:31Well, I mean, when we went to school, you told me it was like, what, 2012, 2011, we
03:36went to school two days, and then we were out for like two, two weeks?
03:40No, it wasn't 2012.
03:41I'm not, maybe 2019?
03:422015?
03:43I don't know.
03:44I can't remember when it was.
03:452011 and 12, yeah, Boston.
03:46Well, it may have been.
03:47I can't remember.
03:48It's been a long time.
03:49Well, we're in my favorite month, so.
03:50Yes.
03:51So, we are just, I'm excited.
03:52I had, I have been out this week.
03:53I went out yesterday, but I already had most of this, had most of everything I needed already,
03:59because I cooked the bacon and sausage earlier in the, the, I cooked it on the 28th.
04:20I just cooked up a bunch of sausage and bacon, because once you have your sausage and your
04:26bacon cooked, it's easy, you know, you can do this for, use it for putting it in an omelet.
04:36You can use it if you're making homemade pizza.
04:40You know, you have lots of options, and then you don't have to do as much prep work.
04:50Like if I'm cooking something that needs chopped up onions or bell peppers, I chop up my onions
04:56and my bell peppers, and I freeze them on a, I put a piece of parchment paper on a cookie
05:02sheet and freeze them flat, and then I put them in Ziploc bags and put them in the freezer.
05:17That's a good way if you find bell pepper, you know, your bell peppers, your red, your
05:23white, your red, your white, woo, your red, your yellow, your orange ones on sale.
05:31That's a nice way to do it, and you can get them all chopped up yourself, and do the same
05:38thing with my onions.
05:39I get them and chop them all up and, or if like say I've got an onion because I'm making
05:46something that I need fresh onion in, once I use all the fresh for that recipe, if I'm
05:54concerned they may go bad, I chop them up and freeze them.
06:01That way you're not, you know, you're not wasting your, you know, your produce because
06:08as with everything, going up in price, you don't want to be losing a whole lot of your
06:14groceries.
06:16As you can tell, this is very easy to do.
06:24You had children that could help if they wanted to, to put some of this, you know, your stuff
06:29in the burrito if they couldn't.
06:35Now you could always put shredded cheese of some kind in there if you wanted shredded
06:39cheese.
06:40You could even, you could cook peppers and onions to put in, in them if you so, you know,
06:47wanted to.
06:48I'll, you know, this is just different ways.
06:54This is just how we, I make them for him.
07:00I had thought about putting hash browns in them, the little cubed ones, but I did not
07:06try that.
07:09I may try that sometime or another, but not when I had to be making so many.
07:15I thought, I don't know if I want to put potatoes in them right now and when I was at the store
07:20the other day, I didn't get, get any.
07:22So they didn't have any of the diced and that's what I really wanted to put in there.
07:27So I did not do that.
07:33Now of course, if you wanted, you could put bacon and sausage, both in them.
07:39I did when I made them last time, I had a little, had a little sausage left and a little
07:44bacon left.
07:45And so I kind of mixed everything together in that one just because that's what was,
07:51I had leftover already.
07:54Of course, I cook all my bacon in the oven now because goodness knows, I don't like cleaning
08:02up the greasy, splotchy mess that goes everywhere for, for making bacon.
08:11I don't like the mess that I have to clean up, so, okay, we're going to, I'm going to
08:15show you how to prep them now that I've got the plate kind of towering there.
08:20I'm going to move the rest of these.
08:23We will be, you know, doing more, but how I prep them for the freezer is I wrap them
08:34in wax paper.
08:37I have wrapped them in parchment paper, but I prefer to do it in wax paper.
08:43If you didn't have wax paper and had parchment paper, you could use that.
08:50This just helps them keep from sticking to each other.
08:55You can get them rolled up tightly.
08:58Make sure you keep all your stuffing in there so it's not sneak coming out.
09:04And then I just put them in a gallon Ziploc bag and lay them flat to freeze.
09:11And then once they're frozen, you can set the bag upright, but that way you get everything
09:17frozen in there and keeps everything nice and tight.
09:23And so, you're just going to take your burrito, just like you wrapped it basically, and I'm
09:34going to wrap it in the wax paper, just the same, just so it is separated there.
09:42And I have a Ziploc bag right here, and try to make sure you put the end of your package
09:51of your, the wax paper on the bottom, so therefore it will, you'll have the bottom, have the
10:01weight of the burrito to keep it down, keep that end of the wax paper down.
10:07And then, I think Haas says you then put some in the microwave, I think it says it for a
10:13minute.
10:15You just need to, you know, kind of play around, depending on how new your microwave is, how
10:21hot it gets, how much stuffing you put in, the burritos, all of that will play a part
10:31in how long it'll take to warm a house and I got this idea from someone watching another
10:40video, and as they say, they take theirs out the night before and put them in the refrigerator
10:49so they can thaw, because they like cooking them from the thawed temperature best over
10:57doing them from frozen.
10:59But, yeah, that's one of those things, that's a difference, I, and Paul works on, well,
11:11he works on Fridays, but anyway, but when he goes into his day job and has to go in
11:18and physically, I put a sausage and biscuit in his lunch bag, and I take it out of the
11:26wax paper and wrap it in a paper towel and slip it down in a bag for him to take, and
11:35then once he gets to work, he can warm it up in the microwave at work.
11:40But same idea, you're gonna be warming these burritos up the same way I wrap them in, I
11:49like to wrap the stuff in paper towels just because that way it kind of takes care of
11:54some of that extra, um, moisture from when you're gonna be moving, uh, warming them up.
12:01But, okay, but see here we have our, have a bag full here, and so it is ready for the
12:07freezer, and we will see y'all another time.
12:11Goodbye.
12:24Bye.
