Thousands of Disneyland workers have voted to authorize a potential strike. The union and Disney have been in contract negotiations since April 24th, as the contract for some employees expired on June 16th and for others on September 30th. The 14,000 workers are represented by four separate unions and consist of a variety of different workers, including custodians, ride operators, store clerks, candy makers, and more. UFCW Union Local 324 announced that the vote passed, with an overwhelming 99% of those who cast their votes supporting a strike. This vote does not mean that the workers will immediately go on strike. Negotiations between the union and Disney are set to continue on Monday, July 22nd and Tuesday, July 23rd.
