Dr. Eggman has found the diary of his late grandfather, Professor Gerald Robotnik, and learns of the military's top secret weapon, Project Shadow. Infiltrating the military's base, Eggman finds and awakens Shadow, and begins a new plan to take over the world. Sonic the Hedgehog is somehow mistaken for the escaped Shadow, and it's not long before the two have their first encounter. Captured by the military once again, Sonic is sent to Prison Island. However, his loyal sidekick Tails is determined to come to his rescue...
