Sonic leads the charge, heading through the Metropolitan Highway and Eggman's defenses with ease. However, when Sonic confronts Eggman, a trap from Infinite is set and Sonic is sucked into the void known as Null Space. With help from the rookie, Sonic escapes and resumes his pursuit of Eggman.
