00:00This is the first world title defense at phantom weight for Junto Nakatani, 120 pounds for or excuse me 118 pounds for Nakatani and
00:14Astrolabio up three divisions now as a world champion. You see the height
00:18advantage that Nakatani has also the reach advantage which leads people to
00:22believe that 118 is not his final destination in boxing. He will fill out
00:27very nicely at 122 pounds which of course brings those conversations of
00:31Naoya Inoue for as long as Inoue stays at 122 pounds who knows also the
00:37unification options out there for Junto Nakatani if he becomes victorious
00:42against Astrolabio some really good matchups there but I think he's filling
00:46in quite nicely in his third weight class and of course obviously capturing
00:49a belt there it was really important. So tonight he will make the first
00:54world title defense of that phantom weight belt but for Vincent Acero
00:58Astrolabio you know he's a fighter that can be explosive he has some power he is
01:04the underdog in this fight but he does possess some skills that could you know
01:11have him coming out victorious most notably 14 knockouts in 19 fights he's a
01:16live dog. Yeah no definitely and I would say you know he's got three great
01:21strengths in my opinion his style being that he's aggressive that's his greatest
01:26strength in my opinion he throws a lot of punches he throws in combos and his
01:31most powerful punch is the straight right so I'd say you know you have to
01:36stick with that tonight you want to force Nakatani to fight your fight which
01:40is an inside fight. He's gonna have to go to the body early he's just gonna have to continue pressure and aggression.
01:48And here is the commission presentation in the ring before we get to the ring walks.
01:55This for the WBC phantom weight championship.

07:32the southpaw fighting under the tutelage of Ruby Fernandez.
07:3826 years old.
07:44He has been on a run of some very impressive performances
07:48as of late that have moved
07:50some very knowledgeable observers
07:53to putting Junto Nakatani on their pound-for-pound list.
07:57And a win tonight against Astrolabio
08:01would help to cement that decision
08:04or perhaps move him up on the pound-for-pound list
08:07if he's not there already.
08:12Obviously, the list is subjective,
08:14but Junto Nakatani has the skill set
08:16and is now a three-division world champion,
08:18and it's hard to make an argument
08:20about why he doesn't belong in the list.

15:08Junto Nakatani in the gold trunks with white trim,
15:11Vincent Astrolavio in the red and blue trunks
15:15with the red Everlast gloves.
15:18You see right away,
15:19Junto Nakatani in that southpaw stance.
15:26Astrolavio looking to come forward,
15:29the explosive encounter,
15:31Junto Nakatani,
15:34tall, rangy Bantamweight
15:36who prioritizes the knockout
15:40but can move extremely well,
15:42is highly skilled and has a fantastic inside game.
15:46This is the game plan,
15:48this is the fight right here for Nakatani.
15:50He wants to stay on that outside,
15:52that long range.
15:54He's got the reach for it.
16:00Over three inch reach advantage
16:02over Astrolavio.
16:06Pretty tall and lanky for the 118 Bantamweight weight class.
16:16As he comes forward with a beautiful left hand there,
16:19does Nakatani set up off that pawing jab,
16:21again lands it,
16:22and then a counter shot down to the body
16:24with the right hand from Astrolavio.
16:26He is wasting no time, Nakatani.
16:30He's sitting on these punches.
16:36He's flicking out that southpaw jab there
16:38as he establishes that lead foot position
16:40to the outside of the orthodox fighter, Astrolavio,
16:44closing that distance.
16:47This is what Nakatani did with Anthony Maloney,
16:50sorry to cut you off.
16:51He was probing that jab out,
16:53baiting him to fight it,
16:55and then throwing that looping left.
17:09It's under a minute left here in round one,
17:11as he again looks to land that left hand.
17:15Astrolavio looking to hook around the guard
17:17with that right hand jab.
17:25It's going to be very important for Astrolavio
17:27to target the body early.
17:29Oh, that body shot right on the belt line
17:32sends Astrolavio down in round one.
17:35Delayed reaction there.
17:42Wow.
17:43Oh, my goodness.
17:45Wow.
17:46Thomas Taylor asked him if he's OK.
17:48He says no, and it's over.
17:50Round one stoppage for Juto Nakatani.
17:59And a sigh of relief there from Rudy Hernandez
18:02who collected two world titles tonight.
18:05And here's how he got it done.
18:08Jabs twice, straight left hand to the belt line,
18:11a delayed reaction, and down goes Astrolavio.
18:19Wow, look at that shot.
18:21I'm speechless right now.
18:26And part of it even looks like it was on the belt line.
18:29Yeah, it's a perfectly placed shot.
18:32It's 100% legal.
18:34I mean, those are the shots that hurt the most,
18:36those midsection shots, they're hard to hit.
18:41That's incredible.
18:42I was not expecting this at all.
18:45Barely broke a sweat did Juto Nakatani,
18:48and he is now 28 as a pro, 28-0 as a pro,
18:51with 21 knockouts.
18:57What a fantastic body shot knockout
19:00for Juto Nakatani in the first round.
19:03Everybody woke up for that?
19:04Yeah.
19:05I think we wanted to see a little more.
19:08But that's all it took, one round.
19:10Let's make it official.
19:11Here's Jimmy.
19:1237 seconds in round number one,
19:15he is the winner by way of knockout,
19:19and still the undefeated WBC bantamweight champion
19:24of the world, Juto Nakatani!
19:32And your winner by knockout,
19:34and still WBC bantamweight world champion,
19:38Juto Nakatani with the devastating body shot
19:41in the first round,
19:43and Vincent Astrilavio does not get up.
19:51And with the quickness,
19:53he has his first world title defense,
19:55and it looks like before Alaskagua,
19:59his table mate could even get to his seat
20:02to watch fellow Rudy Hernandez charge Juto Nakatani.
20:08And it's already over.
20:10We're going to hear from Juto Nakatani.
20:12Of course, some good fights can be made
20:15in terms of unification at 118 pounds.
20:18I'd like to see who he says he wants next,
20:21but I'm here for the unification with WBA champ Takuma Inoue.
20:25You've got Yoshiki Takai with that WBO belt.
20:30I mean, lots of good fights to still be made at bantamweight,
20:33but man, I'm surprised.
20:35I mean, you said those are the ones that hurt the most,
20:37but I'm surprised he couldn't get up from that.
20:39No, I mean, those and liver shots,
20:41but, you know, the midsection shot right on the belt line
20:44are hard to land because that's normally where people block.
20:48But, I mean, he was able to place it perfectly.
