Japan sees 1M more tourists post-pandemic

Japan welcomes a million more foreign visitors in the first half of 2024 compared to pre-pandemic levels, logging a new record of 17.78 million, the national tourism organization said Friday. The weak yen is attracting large crowds to Japan, with tourists splashing out on everything from kimonos to knives and pricey meals.

01:16So it's getting more and more popular to visit Japan, I think.
01:19Well, I mean, this country is beautiful, but the yen definitely being so weak,
01:23we knew our money would go a long ways.
01:26And the culture here, we wanted to come visit and see what you guys had to offer.
