Mary’s Milk Bar in Edinburgh was recently found to be the best place for ice cream in the UK - so we took a stroll down to the Grassmarket to try it for ourselves.

00:55Everything else changes every day, so there's always like a vegan, maybe two or three vegan
01:00options and there's always like a nut flavour, but essentially everything changes every day.
01:05Especially at this time of year where it's busy, the flavours will change throughout
01:09the day, so you don't know what you're going to get when you're queuing up.
01:12Sometimes the flavours will change in the space of you queuing up in the queue.

01:23It was delicious, especially with the real cherry bits in it.

01:56But yeah, I find all this kind of thing, surveys I think, also daunting.

02:14We were on a trip to Edinburgh, so I went on TikTok naturally and looked through whatever
02:18was recommended, and this was one of the many places that kind of popped up on my feed,
02:22had a lot of reviews, and as we were walking by there was a huge line, so it has to be
02:26good, so we decided to stop, so that's why we're here.
02:29Lovely regulars, they will look after me and look after myself, but it is quite daunting
02:34when I do things that they've never been here before and they don't know what to expect,
02:38so I just make things my own mind and try not to get influenced by anyone else.
02:45But yeah, it's a lot of expectation.
02:47I know when I started it was three years of no one coming in, and it was just me.
02:53So after maybe three, four years, people, word of mouth essentially, in Edinburgh is
02:58a big deal, and then 11 years on we've got this ridiculous queue, like a lot of people
03:03waiting to come in.
