00:00This listing makes over $93,000 a month, and the best part is that they are only selling digital
00:05products. This means there's no inventory, no shipping, and profit margins are almost 90%.
00:10My name is Dave Nik, and this is a full step-by-step tutorial on how to start your own
00:15print-on-demand store from scratch. Now, if you don't know how print-on-demand actually works,
00:18well, all you gotta do is pretty much just create a digital design, upload it to a supplier,
00:23and then when a customer places an order on a website, that order goes to the supplier,
00:28they create the item, they print that digital design on the item, they ship the design or they
00:34ship the product to the customer, and you just get a commission off of that. So you don't need
00:37any inventory, you don't need to have your own physical products, and all you need is a good
00:42supplier and good designs, and of course, you need to know how to drive traffic, which I'm
00:47gonna show you how to do for completely free, so you don't have to run ads. Now, to make things
00:51even easier for you, I built this step-by-step blueprint document, which I will share with you
00:56for completely free in the description if you wanna use it. It's essentially gonna be in this
01:00free community, where I also do regular giveaways, and I literally give away real money in this free
01:04community, but besides that, you can just go to the tools category over here, you can open up this
01:08post, and there you're gonna find this blueprint, which says print-on-demand starter blueprint,
01:12again, completely free, you just open it up, and then if you wanna follow along with me,
01:16all you gotta do is press file, then press on make a copy, and just click on make a copy,
01:21and that's gonna open up new document for you, so you can make necessary changes.
01:24Now, first things first, building an actual online business, even print-on-demand business,
01:29is actually hard, and it takes time and consistency, so I've left out this habit tracker,
01:34which is gonna be available in Notion, and it's gonna allow you to track your habits,
01:37so you can just enter them over here, so for example, if your goal is to post one new design
01:42every single day, you can enter that right over here, and as you're completing these,
01:46you can just check the box every single day to make sure that you are on a good track.
01:50Besides that, I also spent about $200 on this entire print-on-demand operating system,
01:55which I will also link for completely free, so you can take it if you want,
01:58and it has absolutely everything you need for your print-on-demand business,
02:02so you can track your finances, all you gotta do is click here, you can track your taxes,
02:06you can track your revenue, you can upload your designs in one place, it even gives you
02:11different tools that you can use to create these designs, or websites where you can hire people
02:15to create designs for you, and there is also the learning resources section, which goes deeper
02:20into actual branding and design process for print-on-demand, but that's just the bonus,
02:24let's go to the actual basics, so let's complete the step number one, which is identifying current
02:29trends, to do this, you can use different tools, you can first of all use Allura,
02:32which is like a free tool that allows you to analyze different shops, and it's gonna show you
02:36sales and revenue for that shop, so if I open up this one over here, that's perhaps selling
02:41jewelry, they started out in 2014, and so far, they've done over $100 million in sales,
02:46we can also see their monthly revenue to be $862,000 every single month, they get about
02:5125,000 sales, that's pretty cool, but they've been around for quite a while, besides that,
02:55you could also just go to trends.pinterest.com, you can filter by region here on the right-hand
03:00side, and you can see exactly what's currently trending, so for example, 4th of July was really,
03:05really trending last week, so I could have made some designs and products related to the 4th of
03:09July, then I could also go to trends.google.com, and I can see what's trending right now at the
03:15moment, and we can see the most trending topics today, and besides that, you could also just go to
03:19Etsy, and you can scroll through this, and you can see what are currently the best-selling products,
03:23a really cool thing about Allura is if you have their Chrome extension, you can just find a
03:27listing, let's say, for example, this pillow over here, and then just click on this button,
03:32and it shows you how much money this listing made, so this one so far made $83,000, but that's a
03:37full pillow, so if I were to actually search for a t-shirt or a mug, something that's actually
03:41related to us, then I can find these different products, let's say, for instance, this one over
03:45here, this t-shirt, very simple one, made over $10,000 so far, so at the moment, 4th of July is
03:52very trending, as we know from Pinterest trends and Google trends as well, so I'm going to search
03:56on Etsy for 4th of July t-shirts, and that's going to give me some idea as to what people are selling
04:01right now, we can see the best-seller tag right over here by Etsy themselves, and I can just go
04:07through one of these t-shirts, let's say, for example, this one over here, and I can right away
04:11see how much money this listing is potentially making, really cool thing is that I can also see
04:16the keywords that they are using to get this traffic, so once I have identified the trends,
04:22I just complete that step, I go to step number two, step number two, if you want to use our
04:26operating system template, you just got to go over here, and then you can find all of the resources
04:31that you need for your print-on-demand business, once you do that, just tick the box and go to
04:35step number three, which is to access this print-on-demand supplier called Gelato, really
04:40cool thing about this supplier is that they are genuinely global, so it doesn't matter where your
04:45customers are coming from, products will be produced as close to them as possible, because
04:50one of the biggest problems with e-commerce is that people would order something from you, but
04:54it would take them two months to actually get that product or thing that they bought from you, but
04:58when you have suppliers all around the world, or they have partners all around the world, that
05:02makes things a lot easier and faster, and most of the products that I actually ordered from this
05:06website were high quality, so I reached out to the actual company, and we worked very hard to bring
05:11you 50% off for this platform, so all you gotta do is click the link in the description to go to
05:16Gelato, click on sign up for free, so you can try it out for completely free and get 50% of your
05:20first purchase if you use that link, and once you log in, you will see all of these different tools
05:24on the left hand side, you can track your orders, you can track your stores, you can track different
05:28templates, track your analytics, and everything from scratch, now if you want to create a new
05:32product, all you gotta do is press on create a product here, and let's say I want to create only
05:36single product right now, I can just click on create a template, and let's say I want to create
05:40just a basic t-shirt, I can either create a design inside of Gelato itself, or I can just upload my
05:46design here, now we're going to come back to that step later, but for now, we've completed step
05:50number three, and now the step number four is to choose the actual niche, so ideally when starting,
05:55you want to target one specific avatar, and one specific person that would potentially be buying
05:59these products for you, you don't want to create random t-shirts, one where you have a cat design,
06:03and the next one is some badass design that has nothing to do with cats, you're just going to
06:08confuse your audience, so that's why I left out this step-by-step guide, that's going to help you
06:12decide on your niche, step number five is to create an avatar, the person that you will be targeting
06:16with their designs, and the products that you will be selling, and I've also left this document,
06:20which is going to allow you to fill out these blanks, and just think about who is going to be
06:24the person that you will be targeting with these products, and when you have that person in mind,
06:27every single design that you create is going to be towards that person, so you're going to ask
06:31yourself what is their background, how old they are, what is their gender, location, where do they
06:35live, what assets do they have, what resources they have, skill sets, knowledge, beliefs, biases,
06:39industry, everything just listed out over here, current situation, desired situation, what are
06:44they looking for, are they trying to stand out from the crowd, are they trying to make someone
06:48laugh, are they trying to attract someone to start talking to them when they have that t-shirt designs
06:52on them, step number six is to experiment with different designs, so I've left out this document,
06:56which is going to allow you to really think like a scientist when building this print-on-demand
07:00business, and really trying, testing, iterating, once you complete that, step number seven is now
07:06comes the fun part, now comes actually creating these designs, and there's quite a few different
07:09tools that you can use to create these designs for free, if you want to use kittle, there are quite a
07:14few templates that you can choose from, but if I want to create something similar that's already
07:19selling on this platform, so we can already see that this person, for example, from this one single
07:23design that they've listed on Etsy platform is doing about $800 per month, if I want to recreate
07:28this, then I'm going to go to kittle and try and find a similar design, if you can't find anything,
07:33what I would recommend you do is just go to search templates, and search for something that's related
07:37to the kinds of designs that you're trying to create, so I'm going to click on this one over
07:42here, and let's actually try it out, unless it's a premium one, so for example, this one is premium,
07:46so I wouldn't be able to use it, so I would just go with something that's free, let's go to new
07:50project from scratch, and let me just take this one over here, and I'm going to add it to the
07:54current template, so this is how it looks like, I can make all the necessary changes, so I just want
07:58to enter something that they also have, and this is how my design is going to look like as of right
08:03now, so now I'm going to download it here on the right hand side, if I want to remove the background,
08:06I would have to pay for it, but if you don't want to pay for it, just download it as a png file,
08:11and then you can simply go over to Canva, which is this free tool, then simply upload this design,
08:16and if you want to remove the background, click on edit image, and just click on background
08:20remover, if not, you could also just go back to gelato, select the same color background,
08:26and simply upload your design, so here's how that's going to look like for me, or again,
08:30if you're in our free community on school, you can just open up that post underneath the tools
08:35category, and when you open up that post, I spent about a thousand dollars on buying different print
08:39and demand designs for you, so you don't even have to create them yourself, all you gotta do is just
08:43click over here, there's over a million different design, you can just pick and choose from these,
08:47for example, you have 500,000 t-shirt designs here, just open it up, you can just download them,
08:51and then you can upload them to your own store for free, next step, you just want to set up
08:55your stores, you want to go back, just click on continue to mock-ups, just select the mock-ups
08:59that you want to use, and a really cool thing about gelato is that they would actually create
09:03the description for you, but if you want, you can also enter some keywords that you found
09:08through Etsy to try and actually rank higher for this, now, in terms of the pricing, I would just
09:13let it out be as it is, so for example, the retail price for all variants is gonna be around 39 to
09:1943 dollars, the product cost is gonna be anywhere from 19 to 20 dollars, shipping cost, and so my
09:24profit is gonna be about 50 percent, which is 19 to 21 dollars per sale, so now, just click on
09:29continue to review, once you review, just click on save the template, once you save the template,
09:34you can just click on add to store, and you can either connect to your Shopify or Etsy store, now,
09:39here's a trick that's gonna save you money, so that you can start for completely free, you see,
09:42before you actually create an account on Etsy, there's one thing you can do, so that you don't
09:46have to pay every single time that you create a listing, what you can do is, you can just go to
09:50Etsy, and you can search for 40 listings for free, now, what this will allow you to do, is this will
09:55allow you to find referral links from other members on Etsy, and these are completely free, you don't
09:59have to spend any money, you see, they just leave a link to their referral page, and when you click
10:04on this, and you create an account through their referral link, you get 40 listings for free, so you
10:09can create 40 different products for completely free, and that way, once you start making money,
10:14you can start paying for listings, but when you're starting out, you just don't want to risk your
10:17money, and just right away start investing, now, once you have your listing on Etsy, and you want
10:21to start promoting this listing, you start getting even more traffic, and not just rely on the traffic
10:25that's coming from Etsy, even though that's a good option as well, but if you want to go a step
10:29further, then you can also start an Instagram page, and I created a list of these example pages, and
10:35different categories, and different niches, that are already performing pretty well, and most of
10:39these are completely faceless, so for example, this page over here, is posting spiritual quotes, and we
10:45can open it up, and you can see that it is faceless, and they got like 200,000 followers, so you can use
10:51these chat to GPT prompts to optimize your Instagram account, so if you use this one first,
10:55you can then just go to chat to GPT, you can enter my Instagram profile is about, and then just enter
11:00your niche, let's say the Instagram profile is going to be about expressing love for the USA,
11:05and this would be the bio that I can use, and there's other prompts that you can use for story
11:10ideas, for hooks, for posts, that would actually perform well, another traffic source that you could
11:14potentially use are blog articles, so you can use this prompt to come up with ideas for these blog
11:19articles, so I'm going to copy that, go to chat to GPT, I'm going to describe my avatar, and my niche,
11:24and it's going to give me different blog article ideas, once I get blog article titles, and ideas,
11:28I can then use this prompt, which is going to be the second one over here, so just click on this one,
11:33and you can copy and paste it, go back, you paste it right over here, you can enter how many words
11:37you want, I recommend more than 2,000 words, and then you can just choose one of these titles, so
11:41I'm just going to go with the first one that was shown, I'm going to enter the main keyword right
11:46over here, so we want to mention the keyword multiple times, and once we have this, chat to
11:50GPT will start writing an entire 4 or 2,000 words blog article that I can then use, for example,
11:56on a platform like Medium, so you can just click on write right over here, you can go back to chat
12:00to GPT, you will then take the title, and then you will take the actual blog article, which is still
12:05being written, but I just want to show you how simple it is to copy and paste over here, now the
12:09make thing is even more engaging, I do recommend adding different images in between the lines, so
12:13you just click on the plus icon over here, and then you can upload images, which you can either
12:17generate with AI, like mid-journey, or you can just take them from some stock footage website,
12:21and then in between the lines, you can add an image that is your product that you are selling
12:25through Etsy, and then just a link to your Etsy shop, to publish a blog article on Medium, just
12:29click on publish right over here, enter some keywords, and then simply click on publish, now
12:33besides that, another great traffic source could be Pinterest itself, so there's a lot of people
12:37that are already selling these print-on-demand designs in this platform, so what you can do is
12:41you can just create an account that's going to be only selling these kinds of products, then
12:45click on create a pin, and just simply create a listing over here that promotes this product for
12:50you, now personally, my favorite traffic source is Faceless YouTube Automation, because you can
12:54start as many channels as you want, without showing your face, and without recording anything
12:57with a camera, and you can get paid while driving traffic to your products, and while driving
13:02traffic to your Etsy store, so I will also link this full guide, which talks about how to actually
13:07start your YouTube automation channel, all for completely free, I hope this video was helpful,
13:11and I will see you in some of the next ones.
