00:00Before the interview, we visited a factory in Bulacan where Chinese nationals are working.
00:08Even if it's undocumented or just a tourist visa, they are still holding it.
00:12Almost 80 Chinese were brought to the NBI earlier, including the company's official.
00:17Jaime Santos is the live witness.
00:19Pia Atom is now under the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation.
00:29Some Chinese nationals, after being proven undocumented, are now working in the country.
00:36A bus was brought to the NBI headquarters in Quezon City.
00:4476 Chinese nationals were brought to the NBI earlier.
00:4836 of them are undocumented, while 23 are holding tourist visas.
00:55They were arrested after the NBI-Bulacan District Office received an intelligence report

01:06The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission and Bureau of Immigration
01:11went to the NBI factory in Barangay Santo Cristo, San Jose del Monte.
01:16Most of the workers there are Chinese nationals.
01:20The company where the Chinese nationals work is making water pipes for a water concessionaire.
01:27According to the employee of the company, some have undocumented documents while others are still being processed.
01:34We have some persons who have a legal working permit and some are still in the process of applying for the permit.
01:42And some, they don't have, they are just sending their documents and passports to the third party.
01:50First of all, this corporation is a legitimate corporation.
02:03But then, they are employing Chinese people, while the Filipinos are allowed.
02:11So the Filipinos are being prejudiced.
02:15Because one of the reasons why foreigners can employ them is because they don't have the Filipino skills.
02:26But then, we saw that they are just making big pipes.
02:31Why do they need foreigners?
02:34The company's six officials were also arrested.
02:37According to the NBI, the company hiring these people will surely be held accountable.
02:42The NBI will consult with the immigration office to conduct an investigation on how the foreigners arrived in the Philippines.
02:50They will be held answerable.
02:52Our operatives will not stop the exploitation of these kinds of companies.
03:02They are undocumented in the Philippines.
03:07The possibility that they are trafficked is possible.
03:17Pia Atoms, the NBI is hiring the last Chinese nationals to be processed.
