00:00Raw dogging at home. Raw dogging at home. Raw dogging at home. Give us the browns, we'll
00:18take them home. Cook them on the air, George Foreman, and give them a grade. That's what
00:26we call raw dogging at home. I haven't done one of these in a while, but I had a guy,
00:34Andrew, dropped off a bunch of hot dogs for me from a company that he runs called Ferraros.
00:42Ferraros. Now, this is a small company in New Haven, Connecticut, and they have a great
00:50variety of different hot dogs. Ferraros was founded in 1952 by Sal Ferraro Sr. in New
00:58Haven, Connecticut. Ferraros began as a local meat market on State Street, eventually becoming
01:04a fixture in Worcester Square and beyond. Today, located in North Haven, Connecticut,
01:11Ferraros continues to uphold its legacy of quality and tradition. What sets Ferraros
01:18apart is their unwavering dedication to their founder, Sal Ferraro, who passed on his recipe
01:26on to his family. It's entirely perfected, and this commitment continues to this day.
01:31And they say that every bite maintains the original flavor. And what they're doing is,
01:38I am going to be trying these hot dogs out. They want me to eventually try to get a hot
01:45dog competition for them, but we're going to give these a try for our raw dogging at
01:50home. We're going to give these both a grade. Now, I've got two different types here. These
01:53are the skinless dinner franks and the natural casing franks, Ferraros. And they also have
02:02different types. I might try them a little bit later. They're in my freezer right now.
02:06But we're going to give these two hot dogs a try, the natural casing and the dinner franks,
02:12as we go raw dogging at home. And as usual, we always use the George Foreman grill because
02:18that's where we've always tried these before. These might be cooked better on other surfaces,
02:25but for the raw dogging at home, we call it the equalizer. So we're going to put one of
02:33the dinner franks on the Foreman grill. We're going to put one of the natural casing franks
02:41on the Foreman grill, and we're going to give these a try. Of course, it takes about
02:4410 minutes to cook these up on a Foreman grill. So let's get these cooking. And Alexa, set
02:51a timer for five minutes. Alexa, set a timer for five minutes.
02:56Five minutes, starting now.
02:59Right after five minutes, we'll take a look at these. We'll give them a quarter turn and
03:08cook for another five minutes. Now, we'll try them out. We'll see how these came out.
03:18I did hear one of them burst. Yes, indeed. They did burst. The natural casing one burst.
03:25The dinner frank remained intact. They actually look pretty good, if you ask me. You got a
03:33nice little charring. Bun-to-dog ratio, of course, is good. This is the dinner frank.
03:42This is the natural casing frank. And we're going to give these a try to see just how
03:47good they are. And Ferraro's hot dogs, let's find out.
03:54All right, here we go. Here's where the rubber meets the road. The first one we'll give a
04:00try out to is the famous, we call them famous franks. These are the natural casing franks.
04:09Ferraro's since 1952, natural casing. Let's see how these came out. This one burst, as
04:14you can see. Look at that. That's the one thing about natural casing. Natural casing
04:18has a tendency to burst. But let's give this a try. Let's see how it came out, how it tastes.
04:27Good crunch.
04:39That's what actually causes that burst, is that when it has a good crunch and a good snap.
04:49This is a solid, solid hot dog.
05:01This hot dog is a triple. Very good flavor. Very good flavor. Old-fashioned. It says old-fashioned
05:10flavor, finest quality. Now we'll see what the dinner franks taste like. These are a
05:17little different, a little more plump. Let's see how these actually taste.
05:34Very good. Excellent hot dogs. I highly recommend these Ferraro's.
05:39The dinner frank actually has a very good quality taste to it.
05:55Yeah, they're very good. I like these hot dogs. The pork beef blend on both of these.
06:02I'm going to also give it a triple, and I want to thank once again Ferraro.
06:07I might be trying a couple other brands I put in the freezer, maybe down the line,
06:11but thanks Andrew for bringing these down.
06:17Once in a while, we'll bring out the old Raw Dogging at Home, if we can find a nice brand.
06:21So don't forget, recommend the brands, and maybe I'll try them at home.
06:25So, Raw Dogging at Home, Raw Dogging at Home, give us the brands, we'll take them home.
06:36So we can go raw dogging at home.
