01:16:53What a great opportunity for me to learn. Yeah, and I remember reggie mckenzie our gm with the raiders

01:16:58He said the reason I wanted to pick you so bad was

01:17:01You lived

01:17:02You know a very difficult thing to watch right and you got in your brother taught you you were there with him

01:17:07Like you were at his house every day, right?

01:17:09and my brother just groomed me taught me everything he could you know got me around all the guys and

01:17:14and so like football at that point it was like

01:17:16That path looks so easy. Yeah, you know, obviously it's not but you know, just it it looked normal, right?

01:17:22You know, right how hard was it though?

01:17:24Because I you know, we're fans we sit on the couch a guy gets sacked for like get up

01:17:28Like, you know like come on pussy get up but it's your brother and it's your family is watching this and he's going through

01:17:56And the hardest part was watching like my mom my grandma and like his wife

01:18:03We all love each other so dearly and deeply and so I felt like their emotions, you know

01:18:11She's like a nervous wreck every game because like is he gonna be okay after this?

01:18:15Yeah, it wasn't like are we gonna win? It was like I just want him to be intact

01:18:22100 but you want to talk about like I always prided myself on being a tough tough tough football player play through anything all that

01:18:29Like some of the stuff that he went through like I was like, that's where I learned it

01:18:32Yeah, but I didn't I haven't had to deal with some of the stuff he did but you know, thankfully but watching it was hard

01:18:37But it also gave me confidence to know like, all right, I you know, he's like teaching me protections

01:18:43You know, if you maybe if you're not so good here, you know, this is a way to fix that

01:18:47It's also I would imagine like difficult because the nfl in all pro sports a lot of it is the situation

01:19:43And so yeah, of course you think like man, what if what if he was in a different situation?

01:19:52Because you just have to sit there and be like what if it's interesting because the where he got drafted

01:19:58And so you played high school football in texas for a little bit the fact that he's on the texans

01:29:42Starting in freshman football by everybody, you know, I was like, well, you know, I didn't see this in california

01:29:46So i'm getting recruited i'm getting offered i'm starting to get well pat calls my dad. He's like hey i'm this was my junior year

01:29:52He's like hey i'm checking on dave. How's dave doing?

01:29:54You know, he's dave's not gonna answer his phone, you know, right? How's dave doing?

01:29:57And my dad was like, oh dave's doing great

01:29:59But derek's waiting for you to call him and as you could tell he pat was probably saying a few words that little mfer

01:30:05I didn't know he wanted to come to us, you know

01:30:07And uh, he offered me like through my dad. My dad's like hey fresno offered

01:30:12I was like what and I wanted to commit right away because like the whole time

01:30:16Like I just love that city. I love the ramp

01:30:18Like I was like I want to get my name up there next to dave's like

01:30:22I'd just be like what a cool thing. That would be like just for our family, right, you know, and uh,

01:30:27And like he was like I called him the next day. I was like i'm coming

01:30:36I was like man screw that you know, I told him and sure enough usc showed up the next day

01:30:40At my school like all this but you sure yeah, you sure you want to yeah

01:30:43No, I I was like i'm going to fresno. So it worked out. He's an all-time football guy my favorite

01:31:02We kept dropping snaps because I was in the shotgun my whole senior year, right?

01:31:05So I gotta learn how to play under center. Well, I drop a snap and he goes that's it get in here and he gets down

01:31:20Snap I ever took in my life, but I got the snap and then he think and then right there

01:31:28I remember it's my first practice and I go to take a snap in like nine on seven or half line run

01:31:34And I I say said hut and they snapped it too soon and I break my finger and it's like out like this

01:31:40I put it back in he's like time to learn how to be tough get back in there

01:31:43So I man I went back in there broken finger. I handed the ball off right-handed all day

01:31:49That was pat's way of like like pushing you to become a man

01:31:55Like he he basically was like we're not afraid of anyone

01:31:59We know we're not on the same level talent wise, but it doesn't matter. We'll go play football and it's beautiful

01:48:41We ran a wildcat play my rookie year and i'm wide open down the side and he was throwing it

01:48:48That would have been my one that would have been the one so hopefully the other football guy

01:48:51We got to talk about real quick because we're big fans of him is rich passaccia. Yes when he came into the locker room

01:48:58Was it just the vibe because again that was the season that everything could have gone wrong went wrong for the raiders

01:49:03Yeah, but he like we wanted him to get the job. He was he felt like such a football guy

01:49:16cared just as much as he cared about us winning and all that he cared about you as being a husband and a dad and

01:49:29We don't know if we're taking their flight like we're about to get on the plane and they end up getting us off the plane

01:49:34So they end up postponing the game like two days

01:49:36He's like guys next two days take them off rest your bodies and you get your mind right and prove to me that

01:49:40What I did was the right thing

01:49:42we came out and we were like the most aggressive i've ever seen our team like

01:49:47Everyone did it because we didn't want to let him down right for giving us those two days off

01:49:51You know, which I was like two days off before a game, right? That's insane

01:49:54Yeah, you know but crazy times but he does that and then the other thing he's like, you know what you need to do

01:49:59He's like you need to write a letter

01:50:00And he said you need to start writing letters and you know during this busy time and let your wife know how you feel about

01:50:05her

01:50:06and I was like

01:50:07I was like, I have to like write a letter about like team, you know, what?

01:50:10Write a letter to your wife and just tell her thank you and he said sometimes i'll do it and i'll put in the mailbox

01:50:14For my wife, so she'll find it whenever she checks me. I'm like

01:50:17This guy is the most well-rounded all-around person coach i've ever been around. Yeah, and so

01:50:22Like he had the heart of our team. We all wanted him. We all we all are like, okay, we have everything set

01:50:29Now derek go figure out how to get tay here. Yeah, and we're good and we'll just build on what we have

01:50:34And they ended up obviously making a different choice. Yeah. Yeah, they did that was bad choice different vibes for sure

01:50:39They hired a snake for sure different vibes. Yeah

01:50:43Yeah, so that must have been an interesting time for you guys. Uh the craziest game

01:50:48Maybe in the nfl in terms of like the way it was set up and what we almost saw happen

01:50:53Was that game where you could have tied the chargers, right? Yeah, both teams

01:50:57Could have gone to the playoffs good memory and it goes into overtime, right? Was it 29 29? Yeah, I think so

01:51:14But in the huddle they all of a sudden like so we we had a third down and I hit zay jones on a bench route

01:51:23Like our mindset was like go score. This is a rival

01:51:26Kick them out, you know, like our mind like yeah, we like there was there's one of most violent games I played too

01:51:31Like it was everyone's battling for their life. Yeah, basically

01:51:35and and then we we ran the ball, I think we ran it i'm like

01:51:39What's going on here? So I remember there's a timeout and I walked over there

01:51:41I was like, let's end the freaking game send them home

01:51:45Yeah, I was like even if we miss the kick like the worst thing that can happen is we get it blocked and they run it

01:51:49Back, obviously I get that but I was like you got carlson who never misses, you know

01:51:54Especially with the game on the line

01:51:55I was like, let's just get in there and let's run the football

01:51:58So then josh ends up making a great run and getting us in position

01:52:01And then they were like, all right, run it down take the timeout

01:52:03We'll kick it because there was a thought of if we just let the clock run out. Yeah, we're all in. Yeah

01:52:08And pittsburgh would have hated that. Yep

01:52:10Um, so I think a lot of fans would have hated that you guys did the right thing like you play to win

01:53:09Just be honest like we felt like it was set up for that team to have a good chance to get the super bowl

01:53:13yeah, just the way the seatings were and all like where you had to play and all that kind of stuff and

01:53:18the matchups right and so for us we're like

01:53:22I sit back there and watch them like how what could have been yeah

01:53:25And the one that I think the one that hurts the most is the last play to me

01:53:28Is when I had to force the ball in there

01:53:30It's you know

01:53:31the last play of the game and I gotta jam this ball in there and it's like

01:53:34You know, even even our coach said I wish I wish we just got everybody in the end zone on a certain play

01:53:38So you could read it out and try and give someone a one-on-one

01:53:41But I think of those two plays like all the time when i'm working out. Yeah, i'm like i'm gonna get back to that situation

01:53:47yeah, you know and like it just it feels you you know, yeah, you gotta find like i'm

01:53:51My my caddy who was my best friend?

01:53:53He's like you're a psychopath because I'll make stories up like you talk about like I see jordan do it

01:53:57It's like I make stories out like yeah, they thought I you know couldn't do this or they thought you know

01:54:37and I remember when he broke the line scrimmage and took off I was like

01:54:41There's no freaking way we're about to lose like this on a run where they're trying to run the clock out

01:54:45he threw that ball back in the air, which i've never seen before and

01:54:52There's no way mac tackles him. Yeah, like the chandler's just chandler's arms are like from here to there

01:54:57And when he broke that tackle it was the craziest thing ever

01:55:00But what I have learned is I tried to hit mike mitchell in pittsburgh one time

01:55:04There was a fumble which was a blown whistle

01:55:06I didn't hear the whistle because it was so loud and he takes how I take off and I hit him as hard as I

01:55:10Could which probably looked just normal. Yeah, and my whole shoulder went numb and I couldn't move it

01:55:16And my coach said if you ever do that again, I just won't play you. Yeah, and I was like, okay

01:55:21So now I let people get past me and I just grab them. Yeah, there you go. Yeah, i'll take a horse

01:55:25Yeah the backpack on him just let him go by and then jump on I threw a pig against kansas city

01:55:29I let breland get in front of me and then I went because I could chase him and I grabbed him and threw him

01:55:32He's just got to show a little bit of effort for the tape. You don't have to make the tackle

01:55:36Yeah, you just gotta try. Yeah, you gotta be like, all right, there he is running down the field. That's fine

01:55:39I tried I had one last year. I threw a pig against the rams

01:55:42Uh, it's terrible throw, but I I didn't see the guy throw it

01:55:46And i'm standing there and i'm like, please cut back and he runs right at me. I was like crap

01:57:40Preview with shane. So shane, let's start with this. Let's start with a

01:57:46Uh, I know you always have great stories and backgrounds, but royal troon

01:57:50Give us the background of royal troon the golf course and what we should expect when we're watching this weekend

01:57:56Early mornings, which I actually love, uh at the open championship

01:58:00Yeah, so, uh, I I got I went over to scotland after college big cat and actually caddied at st

01:58:06Andrews for a summer that was like my job out of college

01:58:08And I went and played royal true didn't know much about it

01:58:11And I walked away and said to myself my dad was there with me and I said this is my favorite links course that I

01:58:15Played to this point. So I love it. This is the 10th open championship. It's hosted first since 2016

01:58:21Had both some awesome winners and some random winners todd hamilton, of course beating ernie ells there, uh back in the day

01:58:27I think that was in 2004, but this is a pretty demanding driving golf course for an open, you know

01:58:33You go to places like st

01:58:34Andrews and you can kind of hit it all over the place even with fescue up

01:58:38This is a place where if you start missing fairways, you can find yourself in the gorse

01:58:41I mean some of these corridors are really really tight and they've done a good job of kind of tightening those up for this open

01:58:46Championship, so I love it. It's you see a lot of water when you play this golf course probably as much

01:58:52Oceans you'll see play in any of the open road of golf courses

01:58:56And like I said, I mean I get obsessed when uh when they return to royal true and just because it's one of my favorite

01:59:00Personal golf courses over there. So with the water if this, uh,

01:59:04If this golf course is windy any day, is it become

01:59:08Almost unplayable because I feel like that happens sometimes the open championship where the wind is really whipping

01:59:12It's like these guys got no chance

01:59:15I don't think i'd go as far as to say unplayable and the word i'm hearing from people over there

01:59:21Is that this is a little bit of a greener golf course than some of the ones in the area?

01:59:25The rna kind of making sure that with some of the weather they're predicting later in the week

01:59:29That the balls aren't going to roll off the greens if you guys remember 2015

01:59:32Brooks kapko when he was not broke and he was on the green

01:59:35Guys remember 2015 brooks kapko when he was not brooks kapko basically told the rna

01:59:40I'm not gonna keep playing at saint andrews because it was so windy

01:59:42And this was like when he was just the european tour golf or not

01:59:45You know kind of the stud that he is now

01:59:47That I think is the fear for the rna is that if it gets super windy

01:59:51And there's that much exposed greens like you see at saint andrews and you see at troon

01:59:55Then maybe they have to pull people off the golf course

01:59:57So I think that's part of the reason you're going to see a little bit of a greener

02:00:01Real true and then maybe you'd expect or even some of the golf courses in the area. Yeah, okay

02:00:05So so the wind is going to be the real x factor because I feel like with uh with the us open

02:00:09We root for the course. It's our favorite thing to do. Yeah with the british open

02:00:13It's almost like excuse me the open championship. Please. I'm I apologize. Uh, you root for the weather sometimes you root for like the conditions

02:00:21Yeah, mother nature is like the top pick at this one. I think you could also root for the course pft

02:00:26I mean, I think this is a place where they've condensed the golf courses on the road over there

02:00:31So you only see six or seven courses really?

02:00:34So I think it's a chance to kind of root for your all-star team, right?

02:00:37I mean you get real true and you get saint andrews they you know, occasionally they'll pop over to ireland

02:00:41but for the most part

02:00:42There are six or seven places that we know and we love so you can root for both mother nature and the golf course

02:00:47Yeah, I like that. So, um, yeah, it's going to be very interesting

02:00:50We've already got some drama to start the week off

02:00:53Tiger and uh and monte are going at it calling montgomery. What did montgomery say?

02:00:58He said like maybe it's time for tiger to retire talking about his his recent play and then tiger fired back and said well

02:01:03They let you play here for the rest of your life if you win

02:01:07Yeah, yeah

02:01:08Montgomery was basically saying this is not the tiger woods

02:01:11That I grew up watching that I grew up competing against the fiery competitor. I think is the terminology

02:01:17He used about tiger and he was basically saying this isn't you know, this is roger federer playing tennis

02:01:22At the age of 50 right and tiger fired back and said I get a chance to play the open until i'm 60 years old

02:01:27That's basically a cutoff at the open calling montgomery does not get so calling montgomery never won a men's major championship

02:01:33Arguably the greatest player in golf history not to win a men's major. So yeah tiger firing back

02:01:38Listen tiger's never gonna dig deep into who you are

02:01:41But he's gonna lay lines out like that

02:01:43Like you remember the stephen ames thing his answer about the the talk from ames back in the match play days

02:01:48He just simply said nine and eight is what she what he beat him at

02:01:51I think this is kind of typical tiger in terms of the response. I'll say this. I think it's good for tiger

02:01:56I think somebody taking a shot at this guy, you know, you guys follow golf, you know around the major championships

02:02:02I know you guys follow tiger woods. When's the last time somebody took a shot at tiger?

02:02:06It rarely happens if ever so if he needs bulletin board material

02:02:10For some reason to get a little bit more fired up and go out there and play

02:02:12Well, maybe this helps him this week. You maybe maybe he'll even make the cut

02:02:17It's just that's right more bulletin board. He's he hasn't shot around in the 60s since riviera last year

02:02:23So that's about 18 months ago

02:02:25So yeah, anything that can maybe help him go out there and play a decent round of golf will be helpful

02:02:28Okay, so the other story, uh rory coming off of maybe the worst, uh loss you could have as a golfer

02:02:36uh, he peeled out of the uh driveway, uh after the

02:02:41Everybody was safe. Everybody was safe. He almost hit several people. Yeah, he he didn't talk to the media

02:02:46He released a statement afterwards. So he's talking to the media this week

02:02:50I saw that also there was a funny story that tiger texted him two days after gave him a couple days

02:02:55But rory had changed his number. So he ghosted tiger. Uh, but what where do you think rory is at mentally?

02:03:01Can he win this this he feels like the guy especially in the last few years where he has been so close

02:03:08So many times and played such great golf and he has nothing to show for it

02:03:13I think he can absolutely win in any major championship

02:03:15I think it's so easy for golf people to go. I like rory this week

02:03:18Will you like rory at every major he finishes in the top 10 every single time?

02:03:21There's a big difference obviously in finishing in the top 10 and winning. I think for rory he can look back at 2011

02:03:27You know that that complete, you know, like second nine at augusta national, you know, basically debacle from rory

02:03:33He started hitting balls left and making huge numbers and loses the masters

02:03:37He won the next major championship after that by eight shots

02:03:40And that has been something that rory has been great throughout his career is that kind of bounce back ability?

02:03:45So in that regard, yes, I think it could be a good week for rory

02:03:48I don't see this being a great place for him

02:03:50I just I feel like the unpredictability of of lynx golf the weather expected with the high winds i'll give you guys this

02:03:57I know you guys are an nfl podcast for the most part

02:03:59The masters is a super bowl the pga championship is opening week of the nfl everybody gets excited

02:04:05But it's not the most important part of the season. I feel like the u.s

02:04:08Opens kind of divisional championship weekend where everybody that makes it to that point has a chance to win

02:04:13But it's going to be very very tough to do. So the open is a snow game

02:04:17There's just so much unpredictability

02:04:19Involved in a snow game. Maybe you can throw the ball. Maybe you got to run it

02:04:23You don't know if you can depend on your kicker at all

02:04:25That's what I look at here and you've got to go back to 2010 with rory

02:04:29The opening round of saint andrews he shoots 63 and should have shot 62

02:04:33The weather picks up the wind starts blowing. He shoots 80 the second round

02:04:36There's just so much unpredictability going into this week and what we should expect from rory. He played fine last week

02:04:42I just don't see him as as a winner

02:04:45At royal troon considering the golf course and kind of the weather and what we expect to see there

02:04:48I love that you just man-splitting golf to us in football terms, but that was the perfect analogy. I get it now

02:04:54Yeah, like you don't know you don't know if there's so talking

02:04:57Yeah, if there's so much snow that it's going to be uh, really good for the offense or there's just a little bit of snow

02:05:02So it's just going to be a mucky game altogether. I like that. Yeah, it was it was an aha moment for me

02:05:07I was like, oh that oh shit that makes sense. So if we're to pull on that thread a little bit and extrapolate it

02:05:14Leshawn mccoy was like the greatest running back ever the greatest snow game play ever

02:05:18Uh, who is the the leshawn mccoy of uh of golf who can play the best?

02:05:25I think brooks would be my answer to this. I feel like brooks is the kind of guy

02:05:30That if it's windy if it's nasty if it's fine

02:05:33Obviously, he's played well on golf courses with no wind at all

02:05:36I feel like brooks is one of those guys kind of like jack nicholas back in the day or jack. Sorry jack nicholas, right?

02:05:43My bad, sorry the famous golfer but you know, you think back to the way jack kind of approached major championships

02:05:49He said anybody there was a complaint at the u.s. Open. I knew I could beat I feel like brooks is very similar

02:05:53In that vein where he goes into these weeks going. I hope it blows. I hope it's nasty

02:05:58And if it's not that's fine, too. I can still shoot 65. Yeah

02:06:01Yeah, can you uh, can you do a comparison for bryson dechambeau? What nfl player would he be?

02:06:07I mean, I mean maybe aaron rogers

02:06:10Maybe that's the comp for bryson where you either love him or you don't like him at all

02:06:14I mean, I know big cat has had an interesting relationship with aaron over the years

02:06:18I mean aaron rogers, you know the one the one super bowl, right?

02:06:21And I mean if that's his legacy, that'll be a very interesting thing to follow up

02:06:25I think the biggest difference for me is bryson's ability to play these types of golf courses

02:06:29You think about the way he played pioneers?

02:06:31He's not winning at pioneers three years ago

02:06:33But he's changed his game and he's kind of opened his mind up

02:06:36To playing different types of golf when it asks the one thing about this golf course

02:06:40Is this is the most demanding driving golf course that you'll see all year long in terms of major championship golf

02:06:45And bryson can get a bit squirrely with the driver. We know he hits it forever

02:06:48He doesn't always hit a ton of fairways

02:06:50So that'll be kind of the thing I pay attention to

02:06:52Is bryson willing to hit the driving iron or the long iron off a lot of these tees like so many of the other players?

02:06:57Or is it going to try to bang driver like we saw at pioneers all over the place?

02:07:00so this golf course, um

02:07:02Correct me if i'm wrong

02:07:03But like i've been reading uh about like who to bet on and who who has a good chance and the name colin

02:07:08Morikawa comes up a lot because this golf course doesn't penalize guys who can't hit it a million miles

02:07:15You know down the down the course

02:07:17So that like speaking about a rory like he his his biggest strength is a little bit neutralized

02:07:22Is that fair to say and is it is it a golf course that?

02:07:25Guys who don't hit it the distance that rory or bryson hit it are going to have just as good of a chance to win

02:07:32Yeah, the pga championship and the u.s

02:07:34Open have kind of become and even I mean even augusta national for that matter

02:07:37I mean you want to be able to hit the ball as far as humanly possible that gives you the best edge

02:07:41I got a great justin ray stat for you on that big cat justin ray on twitter who has all the great stats

02:07:46And does an amazing job. He said since 2014

02:07:4855 of the masters winners pga winners and u.s

02:07:51Up u.s open winners have ranked in the top 10 that week in driving distance

02:07:55None of the last eight open champion winners have done

02:07:58So to your point you don't have to bang the golf ball to do well here

02:08:01You look at brian harman a year ago. Not a long hitter of the golf ball

02:08:05He contends this remains the random major championship, right?

02:08:09This is the one where you can be older. You don't have to be the young dude

02:08:13You don't have to be the young stud. You can be an older player

02:08:15We've seen a lot of randomness across the board over the last 20 years in terms of winners at open championships

02:08:20So yeah, I think for colin murakawa, you heard him talk after the masters, you know

02:08:24He goes i'm hitting five iron when scotty sheffler's hitting eight iron

02:08:27That's not so much the case at an open he can get around in similar fashion. Somebody like scotty or rory

02:08:32It's a thinking man's tournament. Yeah, absolutely. I think it's a thinking man's tournament

02:08:37I think it's an old guy's tournament as well

02:08:38I think this is the place where you can still see someone in their 40s or maybe even in their 50s

02:08:43Compete contend and potentially win. What about scotty sheffler? He's mentally kind of like a 55 year old

02:08:48Kind of looks like a 55 year old as well. He does. I mean, I I mean, I love scotty everywhere

02:08:53This is the one major he hadn't quite figured out yet, but i'll say this about scotty. He's had an unbelievable year

02:08:58We talk about his wins

02:08:59Obviously he wins the second time at augusta national if he goes through this season like he did last year

02:09:05Without another of the majors

02:09:07I think it'll be slightly glaring because when you talk about scotty you're talking about one of the greatest of this generation

02:09:12If not the greatest of this generation, he's only quote-unquote only won the masters, right?

02:09:17So for him to go through these u.s

02:09:18Opens and pgas and be close and not win

02:09:21I think this is as important a week as it is to rory McIlroy

02:09:25As it is for scotty sheffler in that regard because if he doesn't win this do we look at the season as a great year?

02:09:31Where he only won one major championship if he wins this you're talking about one of the great seasons

02:09:35We've seen over the last 25 years one of the great seasons over the last 40 years in the non-tiger division

02:09:41Yeah, and what about our good our dear friend max homa?

02:09:43Is this a tournament that can shape up for max's game?

02:09:46Tell it give tell us that max has a chance

02:09:48Max max absolutely has a chance at an open. I just feel like with the way he can drive the golf ball

02:09:53He hadn't played great golf as of late, but I feel like max is one of those guys that like I said about brooks

02:09:58He's one of those dudes that can kind of lean into nasty conditions winds are up

02:10:02I'm, not gonna let it affect me like some of the other guys that are maybe weaker minded uh out on the tour

02:10:07Okay, I like that a lot. I like that very much. I and yeah, I think listen. We're all we're all rooting for max here

02:10:13Uh, it feels like the last couple tournaments. He hasn't been at the top of his game. Is that fair to say?

02:10:17Yeah, I think over the last I think he'd be the first to say over the last five six months really since the masters

02:10:22He hadn't played his greatest golf

02:10:24He didn't play great at the scottish last week

02:10:25But the open last year was really important for max

02:10:28So maybe he'll get some good vibes from the way he played at the open last year and go out there and put together something

02:10:33Like we saw at augusta, okay

02:10:34So what about long shots or even any any any picks because I will probably bet these so I got so many for you

02:10:40By the way, I did what I wanted to say something. I wanted to ask you this question because we were talking about snow games earlier

02:10:46I think i've never won a bet betting on the weather like betting the under in snow games or raining games

02:10:52How are you in terms of looking at the forecast and then making your bet on that snow games are my favorite because everyone

02:11:00like thinks oh this is going to be an under and it's it there's snow verse for a reason because

02:11:05It's so hard for the defense to get off

02:11:08and to be able to like when you when the offense knows where they're going and the defense is trying to

02:11:12Figure it out and they're sliding everywhere that that leshawn mccoy game that had like a million points. So yeah, whenever there's

02:11:19a snow game wait till the last minute

02:11:22And then hit the over because it always comes down

02:11:24Everyone bets the under and then you just bet the over right before kickoff and it's usually a good bet

02:11:29It's got to be a good it's got to be like a good amount of snow though

02:11:32It can't be just like a light dusting. It has to be real snow

02:11:54So hits a whole bunch of fairways already won an open championship. I like cory connors this week a little bit

02:12:00He's played incredibly consistent golf. I think he's made 26 straight cuts

02:12:04Just feels like one of those guys the open championship doesn't demand a ton when you get on the greens

02:12:09That's the part of cory connor's game that maybe he isn't as good as maybe a scotty scheffler or rory mcroy

02:12:14But he is an incredible ball striker. So I like cory. I like aaron rye a lot the 29 year old englishman

02:12:20This just his seventh major championship. He's played incredible golf as of late

02:12:24I think he's finished in the top seven in his last three starts and he's played well in the majors this year

02:12:29So those are my sleepers. I got my pick. Do you want the the guy I think's gonna actually win this thing? Yeah

02:12:35I'm going to adam scott. He played well last week. So it's not as kind of like shocking of a pick. He's 44 years old

02:12:42Um finishing the top 10 hasn't finished in the top 10 in a major since 2019

02:12:46But I feel like he's one of those guys

02:12:48It's adam scott and sergio garcia that shouldn't end their career with one major title

02:12:53And so I feel like adam is playing well

02:12:55He's talked a lot this year about prepping his game around the major championships still feels like he has a chance

02:13:02He came so close made bogey on his last four holes to lose to ernie ells by one

02:13:50There's a tournament official that comes out and says you can't even look for your ball in here

02:13:53I mean you can look for it

02:13:54But like legitimately the needles and and somebody from the uk is probably going to correct me on this

02:13:59But i've i've heard and this might be like the caddy thing

02:14:01We used to do this in scottsdale a lot when people come out to play like true

02:14:05I worked at true north and we'd always tell them it was rattlesnake season just simply to keep them going

02:14:09Even if it wasn't rattlesnake season, so they wouldn't go out and spend 20 minutes searching for a golf ball

02:14:13I heard that there are bacteria

02:14:16On the end of like the sticky parts of gorse bushes

02:14:19So not only do you get pricked and it hurts, but it also gets infected quickly again

02:14:24That might just be a catty tale, but that was what I was told back when I went over and uh,

02:14:27And looped it. I like that. I like that. Yeah, don't touch that. Yeah, they will get you sick a blue injury

02:14:33If you get it, it's what we tell our children. That's basically why all the time, right?

02:14:38It's like it's like the children stuff. Oh, I had that happen to me

02:17:36And we've seen guys make holes in one there

02:17:38We've seen great shots, but you can make a huge number on it

02:17:40If you don't hit a great shot and the wind on thursday, it's supposed to be very windy on thursday

02:17:45The wind's kind of coming in from a different direction. So I think it's going to be in the face on the postage stamp

02:17:49So you might see eight iron seven iron from these players from 120. Oh, wow interesting

02:17:56A swedish golfer a barrack and he seems to be always kind of

02:18:01Hovering around the top of the leaderboard at least recently at some of the majors

02:18:05From everybody that i've talked to they say that physically he's one of the best golfers in the world bar
