He bought the Rolls Royce for £700,000 making it one of the most expensive cars he owned. But seeing it at a salvage yard made me think theres a good deal to be made!

04:22And why is it all so freaking expensive?
04:28Corus Mansory started adding extras to its used cars it had for sale
04:33Then added a premium price to them
04:35And they sold
04:36Soon after, Mansory was founded
04:39They made everything in-house from alloy wheels, interior trimming, engine tuning and carbon fibre body kits
04:46They work with all the top luxury brands like Rolls Royce, Bentley, Ferrari and Lamborghini
04:52Some even noticing increase of sales because of Mansory
04:56A regular Rolls Royce can be completely customised for the buyer
05:00Making it a one-of-one car
05:02Separating it from the rest
05:04Which attracted many celebrities
05:06And now somehow
05:08I own one
05:10Now I've tried to get crash damaged Rolls Royces before
05:13But it's virtually impossible in the UK
05:16Because generally they tend to be category B'ed
05:19Meaning that they can no longer be put back on the road
05:22What Rolls Royce tend to do
05:23Is if they can't repair it
05:25Then they don't want anyone else touching it
05:27Especially people like me
05:29So how is it this time I've managed to get my hands on a wrecked Rolls Royce
05:33And one this rare as well
05:35This one hasn't got as far as the insurance
05:38So it doesn't have a category on at all
05:41Now I've got two theories as to why this happened
05:45If you're an insurance company and you've insured a £700,000 Rolls Royce
05:51And it's had an accident this bad
05:54You're going to try and do your best not to pay out
05:56I certainly wouldn't want to pay out

07:11It's then in their best interest to try and sell the car for as much as possible

07:18It makes the car more valuable for people bidding on it at auction

08:17Rear quarter, not saveable

08:20Drive shaft's gone

08:27Wouldn't it be easier

08:46But one thing I wanted to check which wasn't damaged

08:53100% it's going to have a pyro fuse and it's going to be
08:56Well, you'd think it'd be in this thing, wouldn't you?

09:05The pyro fuse is the fuse
09:07Which breaks out when an airbag goes when you're in an accident
09:11Which cuts the power going directly to the engine
09:14From the battery
09:14Which no longer allows you to start it
09:16The only way we can find out whether it's gone
09:18Is to try and start it
09:19So what my first step is going to be
09:21Is just connect up the battery
09:23Then head in the car
09:24And check we've got power to everything
09:26Oh ignition comes on
09:27Oh look at this
09:29That looks like a BMW's interface
09:30That does look like a BMW
09:32Right
09:34I am going to press start
09:35But
09:37I'm doubtful
09:38Come on, we've got faith
09:41Did that just crank?
09:41I heard that, yeah
09:43That just cranked?

09:52It cranked and then it didn't

09:58So has the pyro fuse not gone?

10:04Then it means power's getting to it
10:06And if power's getting to it
10:07Then it means the pyro fuse is all good
10:09But I wanted to check
10:11Because if an airbag's blown
10:12Then the pyro fuse should have been blown
10:14So I started to take it off now
10:17Right
10:19Money's on that that's the pyro fuse
10:22So a good news would be
10:23The pyro fuse has gone
10:24Bad news, the pyro fuse hasn't gone
10:26And there's something wrong with the engine
10:27And why it won't start
10:30I'm going to pry this open
10:31No, I wouldn't

10:33Oh look, we can see, yeah
10:35Look there, it's got a connection
10:37We could see that the pyro fuse was okay
10:39There wasn't any break in the connection
10:41Oh no
10:42Don't break that
10:43So we've just got to get a good jump then
10:46We think maybe the starter motor
10:48Wasn't getting enough power
10:50We found more places under the bonnet
10:51To jump start the car
10:53So we added the jumper pack to them
10:55And then we're going to have another go again
10:57There shouldn't be anything
10:58Stopping us from starting this now
11:00So I'm going to try
11:06We had a crank
11:07That was a crank
11:09Oh
11:10Hold it in
11:14The starter motor did try to crank the engine
11:16But it was almost like it was seized
11:19Before this video we spoke to
11:21We rang Rolls Royce
11:22And he said if there's any problem with the engine
11:24This car is a write off
11:27The engines are so expensive
11:29I could have swear on the auction list
11:30And it said runs
11:33I'm sure that
11:33It says starts
11:35Yeah
11:37It says starts
11:38My next step was to get the code reader out
11:41To see if there was any fault codes on there
11:43We're in
11:45See what faults we got
11:46Once I plugged into it
11:48I could then talk to the car
11:49And see what the problems were
11:51And I could see a low battery voltage
11:53We've got 12 faults
11:55Which are
11:56If it was anything like the McLaren
11:57It needed like 13 to start
11:59But other than that
12:01All the faults that were appearing on the screen
12:03Were all to do with the airbags
12:05And the parts which were missing off the car
12:07Nothing too sinister
12:09Can I clear these codes
12:11And is that going to help us start
12:13Codes have been erased
12:14So we just assumed that it just doesn't have enough power to start
12:17So we got an even bigger jumper pack
12:20And gave it another go
12:25But no luck
12:26We resorted to YouTube
12:28To see if anybody else had the same problem
12:30But then we remembered that
12:31Not many people work on a Rolls Royce
12:33Sure I think the
12:35Auction place of

12:39Yeah
12:40There's no way they have started it
12:42Because
12:43Because all they would do is attach a jumper pack and start it
12:46No way they started it
12:47The only person who would probably know if this thing starts

12:54Time to check it up

12:58See if the engine turns over by hand
13:01Because if it doesn't
13:03It's going back
13:04Now the back isn't looking
13:06So good
13:07Oh no
13:09Now we have the car in the air
13:10We can go underneath it
13:12And try and get it turned over by hand
13:14And if it does turn over by hand
13:16We know the engine isn't seized
13:18This is the bolt on the crankshaft we're trying to get to to turn
13:22Well the good news is there's no oil under there
13:25Oh my god
13:27Look at this
13:28The subframe
13:30Has completely snapped
13:31Oh that arm has completely snapped
13:33Um yeah this is the first time seeing underneath it
13:36Oh there's hoses which go to nowhere
13:39But the good news is
13:40My dad managed to turn over the engine
13:43So we know it's not seized
13:45Okay so it is turned
13:47It does turn
13:48It's not seized
13:49But it was still confusing us on why it wouldn't start
13:52So we called someone who might know
13:54But there is a changeover relay for when they're charging
13:58So if the relay's not set right
14:01Then you don't effectively get vehicle electric so
14:05Big shout out to Simon at McLaren
14:06Relay in here
14:08Which if the battery voltage is low
14:11Won't give you any electronics inside the car
14:14Even if we put the jumper pack on it
14:16Unless
14:17You have this little thing here
14:18Is an actual charger
14:21You get a Rolls Royce charger and you plug that into that
14:24And that flips this kind of relay over to allow it to have voltage even
14:29Though it hasn't
14:30He told me to trick it
14:32Put a magnet over it
14:33So apparently by putting the magnet on it
14:35Electricity should be able to pass from the battery to the car
14:39Magnets
14:41Got two
14:44Did you hear that?

14:53You can hear the relay clicking
14:55Relay just clicks over then
14:57This has to work
14:58That's so dumb
14:59I don't even understand how that works

15:14We were still going with the theory that we didn't have enough power
15:17So now we had two jumper packs at the back of the car
15:20And one at the front
15:22I take no responsibility for any electrical fires now

15:32We left the battery to charge overnight
15:34Come back when it was fully charged the next day
15:36And tried again
15:38It did a bit more this time than last
15:44So my dad bought a Citroen with a diesel engine
15:47And we tried to jump start it with that
15:52Nothing
15:53Nothing
15:54We wanted to see whether we could put power directly to the starter motor
15:57But it was in such an obscure place
15:59We would never have got to it with the jump leads
16:02We then went in the boot and checked all the fuses
16:04And they were all good
16:06Something's stopping it
16:10On the fault scanner there was no faults related to any engine start problems
16:15We had to go back and check even more wiring
16:18But it was all good
16:19And then I just called the auction place
16:21It said vehicle would start on the auction thing
16:24And I didn't know whether we could speak to someone who managed to get it started
16:29We didn't know if there was a special way of getting it going
16:31Because we cannot get it started for the life of us
16:34We'll give you a call back
16:36It's probably the best person to talk to

16:39Whilst we waited for them to call us back
16:41I checked the voltage after the pyro fuse
16:43Which was 12.9 volts
16:45And before the pyro fuse at the battery
16:48Which was around 12.9 volts as well
16:50So that was good

19:15But we had mole gripped the line
19:17So we could still get brake pressure
19:19But maybe it wasn't enough
19:21But here you'll see why that maybe wasn't the case
19:25Because it didn't go again
19:29Well we know it started once
19:33Right it's got a bit late in the evening
19:35And we've still not got it in
19:37We need to get it in there
19:39And we need to go from here to there
19:41But we have got
19:43Rollers because everyone always says
19:45Oh you should get them
19:47But it doesn't really work when your wheel looks like that
19:49We're going to try and put the pallet truck under it

22:53When I saw this car come up for auction
22:55I didn't have much time to think or prepare
22:57I didn't really look at how much
22:59The Mansory parts would cost
23:01Before I bought it
23:03But later I'm going to call them to find out
23:05So what I've learnt about Mansory
23:07Is that they
23:09If you buy the car new
23:11You send it to Mansory
23:13They have Mansory parts
23:15Specific to that customer
23:17And each one is authentic to that customer
23:19So me
23:21Getting the front grille
23:23For this is not going to be possible
23:25For me just going on Ebay
23:27And if I don't buy Mansory parts
23:29The reason why this car is so expensive
23:31Is because it is Mansory
23:33So I think we have to replace it with Mansory stuff
23:35Depending on the value of it

23:42I paid so much for this car

30:25Wheel hubs, suspension arms and everything like that

30:29Thinking it would be the same
30:31This rear subframe has come off a
30:33BMW 6 series if I'm right
30:35This is going to be option number 1
30:37On rebuilding it
30:39We'll find a lot of BMW parts and cross reference it
30:41We have another option
30:43But we'll get on to that
30:45Now I want to see whether this rear subframe
30:47And all the arms are the same as this Rolls Royce
30:49The way it bolts up looks all the same
30:51That rear arm
30:53Looks like
30:55That doesn't it
30:57I think it's the same but different
30:59There are a few things which were exactly the same
31:01Like these drop links and lower arms
31:03But a few things
31:05Which had a bit more strength on the Rolls Royce parts
31:07But we could be onto something here

32:20For me to buy the cheapest one in the country

32:24We use that as a parts car
32:26To build that up
32:28We will still have to buy the Mansory parts
32:30And that will allow us to buy that
32:32And still be in profit

32:38We're not telling Hannah
32:40Now ideally if we could find a crashed
32:42Older model to buy
32:44It would be a lot cheaper and we could use it for parts
32:46And we wouldn't have to take a good car
32:48Off the road
32:50But the good thing about buying one which runs and drives from a garage
32:52Is that we have the option to finance it
32:54Or take a loan out to buy it
32:56We effectively could pay monthly
32:58For a car that we're using for parts
33:00Then sell any parts that we don't use
33:02And when the Mansory Rolls Royce is done
33:04There'll be enough profit in it
33:06To pay off the parts car
33:08We will still have the engine and the gearbox left over
33:10Which could amount to £20,000-£30,000
33:12We'll still have an interior left over
33:14Which could be £5,000-£10,000
33:16So we could slowly make our money back
33:18But
33:20We will be taking a good Rolls Royce off the road
33:24What do we think
33:26This is it

33:30At least we've got under trays
33:32The first thing I never knew
33:34Is that it's carbon fibre
33:36Like all the parts of the car
33:38Is made out of carbon fibre
33:40And it's still 2.5 tonnes
33:42One of the ideas that we wanted to do
33:44To make a good situation out of a bad one
33:46And we really don't want Restford to start coming for us
33:48Because we bought his car for some reason
33:50We thought
33:52This would be a brilliant idea
33:54For us and you guys as well
33:56We are going to sign this
33:58And with some merchandise as well
