00:00It was a big day today with the King's Speech. Now did anything in particular catch your

00:05eye, Stephen?

00:06Yes, I mean one of the key focuses of the speech was driving economic growth, so there

00:10were quite a few announcements in there that will have a bearing on businesses. One of

00:14the things that stood out to me was the proposed reforms to the planning process. Now that's

00:20something that I know house builders have been very keen to see. Hopefully if those

00:24reforms come through that should mean more house building and then a greater economic

00:30benefit from that as well. There's also talk of further devolution, so that would mean

00:34greater powers for the Metro mayors and combined authorities across the UK. There's also the

00:40potential for local leaders to take control of the bus services and things like that.

00:44Is there anything that stood out to you, Adam?

00:47Yes, what stood out to me was the confirmation that a bill will be introduced for the establishment

00:52of Great British Energy, a publicly owned, clean power company that is looking to create

00:58green energy jobs and create more energy security and less reliance on other powers. So it will

01:05be interesting to see how that progresses.
