The California Polytechnic State University Bailey College of Science and Mathematics (Cal Poly) set up a high-tech solar-powered camera system in a northern Colorado rattlesnake "mega-den" to observe rattlesnake activity.

00:00We decided to put in a live streaming camera at what we call a mega den, which is a den
00:17with many individuals in Colorado.
00:22And the purpose of this is twofold.
00:24One is for research.
00:25So as scientists, we can collect data on their behavior without disturbing them.
00:29So it's actually natural behavior.
00:31And number two is that we can show this to the world.
00:33We can show everyone what rattlesnakes are actually like.
