For only the third time in history, the yellow-bellied sea snake has been spotted in California. It's believed El Niño is responsible for forcing the snake far beyond its natural range.

For the second time this year and only the third time ever on record, the highly venomous yellow-bellied sea snake has been spotted on the California coast. 
The Huntington Beach Surfrider Foundation came upon the snake during a recent cleanup at Bolsa Chica State Beach in Orange County.
