00:11Hospitals came to us and said, hey, we struggle to hold a patient in a way that is safe for the patient
00:16and safe for the healthcare professionals.
00:18So they asked us, can you guys help devise a technique?
00:21Well, the safe wrap was born, and it was so effective, in fact, that I said, wow,
00:24this might have law enforcement applications equally, if not more important than in the healthcare institutions.

00:57It literally is only two months old, so it's a very exciting new prospect when it comes to law enforcement restraint.
01:02The conventional method of two-on-one restraint is not only unreliable,
01:07it's actually dangerous in many ways.
01:09It has four fatal flaws, which I'm happy to point out here.

01:15Because it's hard to hold someone down, lay on top of him.
01:17Don't let him get up. Lay your whole body weight on him.

01:22The problem is now we're holding him down, but he's going to struggle to breathe
01:24because there's so much compression of his lungs.
01:26The safe wrap is a completely new approach, even from standing up.
01:28So oftentimes when officers want to arrest someone standing up,
01:31they'll each grab a lamber.
01:32They're trying to pull the person and get him to the ground.
01:34And Connor, stay strong on your stance. Don't fall down.
