00:00Representative Franz Castro and Sator Ocampo will be brought to the Court of Appeals.

00:06They have been charged with hiding RTC.

00:09This is the result of the arrest of a few young people

00:12who were included in a solidarity mission for the Lumad.

00:16June Feneracion was arrested.

00:18I am not ready to be jailed because I know that we are in the right direction.

00:28Act Teacher's Party List Representative Franz Castro was arrested

00:32for hiding RTC against him, Sator Ocampo, and 11 others.

00:38This is the result of the violation of the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act

00:45after they were included in a solidarity mission for the Lumad in Davao del Norte in 2018.

00:53They plan to appeal the decision in the Court of Appeals,

00:56including the sentence of four to six years in prison and a fine of P10,000 civil indemnity

01:03and P10,000 moral damages for each of the 14 minors.

01:08Our appeal to the court is for this situation to be reversed.

01:15The case was brought to the courts after the schools of the Lumad in Talaingod, Davao del Norte were closed.

01:21According to the court, it was a breeding ground for the rebels.

01:24The solidarity mission of Castro and Ocampo was included

01:28to assist the schools and teachers of the Lumad.

01:32According to the court,

01:33the children of their teachers were brought to a dark, unrescued path

01:39and they were walked for three hours for the mission.

01:42The court said that they could have been shot by the military or rebels there.

01:47They could also have been attacked by animals there or fell into the mud or slipped on slippery roads.

01:53It was raining then, so the children were wet, shivering and hungry,

01:59which put the minors in danger.

02:01Then, the children of the group of Ocampo and Castro were escorted by a van

02:06as part of the solidarity mission.

02:09According to the court,

02:12they have a visa of P80,000 until their appeal in the case is not resolved.

02:17If there is an attempt to arrest us, they have no basis.

02:22We are free and we will use that freedom to fight this case,

02:29to fight for the rights of our children and the poor of our people.

02:36How many Lumad were with Castro and Ocampo in front of the media?

02:39We are very angry because it was not Castro and Ocampo who bombed our communities.

02:46It was not Franz Castro who is threatening us.

02:49They are the ones who are helping us.

02:51But the military said that there are many other groups who are making noise

02:55for the court's appeal in Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
