Aired (July 14, 2024) Dahil sa sobrang pagpapahalaga ng Dagupan sa mga isda, naisipan nilang itayo ang pinakaunang sementeryo ng mga isda sa Pilipinas. Silipin ‘yan sa video.

00:00If racing is all about speed,
00:04Luke Morales, a 14-year-old, will not be caught off guard.
00:08At a young age, he is the record holder for the fastest lap
00:12in one of the largest indoor go-kart tracks in the country
00:15that can be found in Dagupan.
00:17This 500-meter track has 17 turns.
00:20Other visitors finish a lap of this track within 50 to 60 seconds.
00:25But for Luke, he only finished a lap of 43.234 seconds.
00:30He is the fastest go-kart racer recorded here
00:33in both the junior category and adult category.
00:36The older one is no longer able to overtake Luke on the racetrack.
00:41Luke became interested in racing when he was just 12 years old.
00:44I watched racing like Formula 1 and Formula E.
00:50What I feel is excitement.
00:53On Luke's 13th birthday, his parents allowed him to sit behind the wheel.
00:58I've been driving for one year now.
01:01My expectation before I drive is that I won't be fast instantly.
01:09And I have to progress for each level in karting.
01:14But with some learning, it's becoming easy.
01:20Even in Manila, Luke designed this go-kart track in Dagupan
01:24for him to practice and play.
01:28To ensure that Luke can balance driving in other aspects of his life,
01:32his mom, Danlyn, is always there to guide him.
01:35Their whole family supports Luke whenever he has a race.
01:39The sport is really good.
01:41It's good for beginners, adults, kids, and everyone.
01:47Because of the importance of fish in Dagupan,
01:50they decided to build the first fish cemetery here in the Philippines.
01:56The fish cemetery will be located in the property of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources or BFAR.
02:02The first whale to be buried here is the whale they named Moby Dick.
02:08In 1999, a whale died in Manila.
02:12But they couldn't find a way to bury it in the city.
02:16That's why they brought its body to Dagupan to be buried.
02:19They named it Moby Dick.
02:22Inspired by an American classic novel about a whale.
02:26Next to Moby Dick in the cemetery are other aquatic animals
02:30that came to the coast of Pangasinan, La Union, and Manila.
02:34When there are beachers or those who step on our shorelines,
02:42those endangered species like sea turtles, whales, sharks, and dolphins,
02:47the first thing the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources does is rehabilitate them.
02:55They will be brought to a place where we will revive them or let them recover.
03:06No matter how strong they are,
03:08they will disappear in Lingayeng Gulf, just beside the BFAR compound.
03:12But if the weather is bad, they will die.
03:15Then they will be buried in Fish Cemetery.
