00:00On the 5th day of the action in the 64th edition of Palarong Pambansa, which is now being held in Cebu City,

00:09several athletes were injured when the medical team of Palarok was attacked.

00:16It was pointed out and clarified that there was no case of an athlete who was hit by a bat.

00:30In the last day of action in the 2024 Palarong Pambansa that is being held in Cebu City,

00:36along with the continuous effort of the athletes to get the medal,

00:40many players were injured.

00:43According to the head of the medical team, Dr. Ruel Dejanio,

00:46they were escorted by the medical team to the building venues and playing venues

00:50to ensure the needs of the players.

00:53There were 25 to 30 patients in the infirmary every day,

00:58while more than 100 patients were escorted to the hospital from the start of the tournament.

01:03He also clarified that there were no cases of dengue in Patimpalak.

01:07Most of them are the usual, coughs and colds,

01:11they were dizzy, they were sick, they were coughing,

01:16but nothing serious happened to them.

01:19I know that there are questions about dengue fever,

01:22so the dengue cases, only seven were confirmed as dengue,

01:29and the seven were admitted.

01:32Dr. Ruel also added that the medical facilities they provided to the patients were complete,

01:37such as the psychological counseling and services of the physical therapists.

01:41He also gave advice to the athletes who are still competing in the Palarong.

01:46It's going to be the medal days now, so take care of yourself,

01:51have a good night's sleep, eat well, hydrate, and be ready.

01:57As I always say, you have to be fit to play a sport,

02:01not just play a sport to get fit.

02:04Dr. Ruel also added that tomorrow,

02:07they will receive services from coaches, athletes, and officials.
