00:00So this is another episode in the series I like to call D&D Ideas from someone who's never played D&D before.
00:08So this is another character idea. So you start with just a regular humanoid character. It could be a human, an elf, an orc.
00:18It could even be a halfling, really just a hobbit. Really the idea is just any kind of humanoid creature that's like around human height.
00:32It could even be like say a tiefling or a dragonborn.
00:38That part's not really the part that matters so much. It's just whichever one you prefer to start.
00:50The twist is the humanoid that you choose to play as, human, elf, orc, etc. is actually something different.
01:03Whether robotic or organic robotic, because I know there are some stories of organic technology, so whichever you prefer.
01:17The humanoid creature is actually a humanoid mech suit for a hamster.
01:23So if you want to reveal it early or keep it as a mystery to your party, but eventually it'll open up and you'll see just a little hamster that talks.
01:35Speaks common or whatever it needs to speak to the party and that's the twist.
01:43You can make it as gross as you want by making it like an organic robot or you can just make it a regular robot like say men in black.
01:55Now how I would personally do it is the hamster is an artificer.
02:01And I think the funnest way to play it would be having two character sheets that you have to roll because if the robot suit dies, in air quotes, the hamster has to eject.
02:17If they roll successfully, then the hamster is still there and perhaps they have to use magic or something else to survive combat.
02:29So perhaps you'd have like two sets of stats, but it'd be at least one character still technically.
02:37So tell me what you think of this idea if you like it.
