00:00Good morning from the Pag-asa Weather Forecasting Center.
00:04This is the current time of the day.
00:06Today is Monday, July 15, 2024.
00:09It's the start of a new week here in our country.
00:12And in our latest satellite images,
00:14we can see that the low-pressure area we've been waiting for has become a typhoon
00:18even though it's outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility
00:21and it's in a part near the area of Vietnam.
00:24So, in this area, there are more than 1,000 kilometers of central Luzon.
00:28It has a force of 45 kilometers per hour.
00:30It's close to the center and it's a force of 55 kilometers per hour.
00:34And it's moving at a rate of 25 kilometers per hour.
00:38Again, it doesn't have a name because it's outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility
00:43and it's not just in the capitals of our country.
00:46It's close to the country of Vietnam.
00:48Meanwhile, even though this typhoon has no direct effect,
00:52it's outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility,
00:56it continues to bring rain,
01:00especially here in the northern part of Luzon,
01:03particularly in the area of Palawan and Mindoro.
01:08So, we're still hoping for a big chance of rain
01:11here in the area of Palawan, Mindoro, and Western Visayas,
01:14as well as in a large part of Mindanao.
01:18Meanwhile, now, we have a cloud cluster monitoring
01:23particularly in the eastern part of Mindanao.
01:26And it's possible that this will be a low-pressure area in the next few hours,
01:30in the next few days.
01:31And we're not ignoring the possibility that this cloud cluster,
01:34or this cloud cluster,
01:36will possibly be a typhoon within the week.
01:38So, we'll continue to monitor
01:40what will be the development of this cloud cluster.
01:43Even though, for now, we can't say if this will be a typhoon,
01:47we're still hoping that this cloud cluster will approach Visayas and Mindanao.
01:52So, it's possible that starting tomorrow and Wednesday,
01:55it will continue to bring rain,
01:57particularly in a large part of Visayas and Mindanao,
02:01as well as in the area of Southern Luzon.
02:03So, to our fellow Filipinos here in the area of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao,
02:08we're hoping that this week,
02:10we'll have a big chance of rain.
02:12We're still hoping that this cloud cluster will approach Visayas and Mindanao,
02:15and it's possible that it will be a low-pressure area,
02:17and we're not ignoring the possibility that it will be a typhoon.
02:19Meanwhile, here in the area of Central Luzon and Northern Luzon,
02:23we're still hoping that it will be a hot and sunny day,
02:26but there's a bigger chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon,
02:30and localised thunderstorms in the evening.
02:33Here in Luzon, we're still hoping for this day.
02:37For today, there's still a big chance of rain,
02:40particularly in Occidental Mindoro,
02:42where there's a high chance of thunderstorms,
02:44or a southwest monsoon,
02:46where a typhoon will hit outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
02:49Meanwhile, in the lower parts of Luzon,
02:51we'll continue to experience high temperatures,
02:54but it's still possible that there will be rain in the afternoon and evening,
02:57and it's also possible that there will be early morning rain showers,
02:59because that's also one of the characteristics of thunderstorms.
03:02The temperature outside is 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.
03:06In Baguio, it's 17 to 25 degrees Celsius.
03:08In Tuguegarao, it's 26 to 35 degrees Celsius.
03:11Here in Manila, it's 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.
03:15In Tagaytay, it's 23 to 31 degrees Celsius.
03:18Meanwhile, in Bicol, particularly in Legazpi City,
03:21it's 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.
03:24Let's move to Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.
03:27Here in Palawan, we're also hoping for a cloudy sky,
03:31where there will be rain, high winds,
03:33and high temperatures in Kalayaan Islands.
03:35In Kalayaan Islands, it's 24 to 30 degrees Celsius.
03:38In Puerto Princesa, it's 25 to 30 degrees Celsius.
03:42There will also be rain in the western part of Visayas,
03:45while the southern part of Visayas will experience
03:48isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
03:51The temperature in Iloilo is 25 to 31 degrees Celsius.
03:55In Cebu, it's 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
03:57In Tacloban, it's 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
04:01Here in Mindanao, it's possible that the rain showers
04:04we're experiencing will decrease,
04:06particularly here in the western section of Mindanao.
04:09But we're still hoping for a cloudy sky with rain showers,
04:12especially in places where it's been raining for a few days.
04:16We're hoping for different precautions.
04:18As I mentioned earlier, there will be cloud clusters,
04:21so starting tomorrow and Wednesday,
04:23it will rain more in the eastern part of Mindanao,
04:26the area of Caraga and Davao Region.
04:28The temperature in Zamboanga is 24 to 30 degrees Celsius,
04:32in Cagendeoro, it's 24 to 31 degrees Celsius,
04:35while in Davao, it's 25 to 31 degrees Celsius.
04:38Again, my fellow countrymen,
04:40be careful, especially in places where it's possible
04:42that there will be sudden floods and landslides,
04:44particularly in the areas of Mindanao and Visayas,
04:47including Palawan, where it's been raining for a few days.
04:51Here are the conditions in our coastal areas.
04:55We're hoping that even though we don't have a gale warning,
04:58so it's possible that our coastal areas will be flooded,
05:01the area of the northern part of Visayas, Southern Luzon, and Mindanao
05:07will remain dry until the sea level rises,
05:10so be careful, especially in small coastal areas.
05:14Meanwhile, our day will be busy
05:17from 5.35 a.m. to 6.29 p.m.
05:22And because we're being watched by many weather systems,
05:25we're inviting you to follow us on other social media platforms,
05:29on X, on Facebook, on YouTube,
05:31and on our website, pagasa.doc.gov.ph,
05:34where we're releasing updates,
05:36especially if we have thunderstorm advisories,
05:38and if, for example, we're in a low-pressure area or there's a storm,
05:42especially in the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
05:46And again, live updates from the Pagasa Weather Forecasting Center,
05:50I'm Obet Badrina.
05:51Let's always be ready for a safe Philippines.
05:55Thank you very much.
05:56Thank you for watching.
05:57Bye.
