Sonic and his friends have reached Dr. Eggman's newest floating space station, the Egg Utopia. Working together, Tails, Knuckles, and Cream advance their way through the many hazards and traps with ease. With the pathway cleared, Sonic confronts Eggman in the main sector of the station known by the code name XX. Following the lengthy battle with the massive Super Eggrobo Z, Sonic returns to the planet to celebrate his victory.
However, Eggman isn't through yet and returns in an even more powerful machine that captures many of the island's animals, including Cream's mother Vanilla. With the seven Chaos Emeralds in hand, Sonic transforms into his super state and races after the mad scientist for a final confrontation...
