00:00I didn't get the role.
00:02They don't like me.
00:04I know when you meet me, you're like,
00:06oh, she caused some trouble.
00:07I am such a...
00:08Oh, I wasn't saying that.
00:10I'm just like, are you telling the truth?
00:12I'm very, I like did a couple of things
00:14that would have made my mom mad if she found out.
00:17And I felt so guilty.
00:19And I wound up just like telling her.
00:20Don't be anxious.
00:21Okay.
00:22I never snuck out of the house.
00:23Never went to parties.
00:24I never snuck out of the house.
00:25Always in bed at nine.
00:27I got straight A's.
00:29I excelled.
00:30I didn't get straight A's.
00:31No, really.
00:32I think that's probably why I'm here today with my parents.
00:34My parents are the best.
00:34I love them.
00:35I would never disobey you.
00:36I love my parents.
00:37I disobeyed them a lot.
00:38No, I kind of wish I had.
00:39See, that's why you're Nicole Kidman.
00:40I wish I had done a little bit more.
00:42No, I was naughty.
00:44And then I would confess.
00:46What did you do that was naughty?
00:47Climbed out of the window, took the screen off
00:51and would climb out.
00:52Climb back in at 5 a.m.
00:53and pretend I'd been asleep all night.
00:56You're so awesome.
00:57I love it.
00:57Wait, that's so cool.
00:58Yeah.
00:59I want to know.
00:59Move on.
01:01There's a lot more.
01:02We could talk pretty much about anything.
01:04You could bring anything up
01:05and you could have a conversation.
01:07And some of my greatest memories
01:09are lying on my mom's bed in the morning,
01:11going in or late at night
01:13and just lying there and telling her everything.
01:15Like just going,
01:16what do you think?
01:17And what do you think of that?
01:17And then also because starting really young,
01:20which we all did acting, right?
01:22Yeah, right.
01:23And going,
01:24I didn't get the role.
01:26They don't like me.
01:28My mom would tell me before I went in like the audition room.
01:31She was like,
01:31the worst thing that can happen is you don't get it.
01:34So what are you scared of?
01:35And that helped me a lot.
01:36I wasn't afraid to like ask lots of questions to my mom.
01:39Good.
01:40Which was nice.
01:40Even if they were considered taboo,
01:42she was always pretty like good about just being like,
01:44well, let's talk about it,
01:45which was cool.
01:46So we all had good parents.
01:47Yeah.
01:48The rules about dating.
01:49I couldn't date till I was 16.
01:50That was the rule.
01:51I just didn't date.
01:52You didn't date?
01:53Because I was working.
01:54When did you start working again?
01:56Fourteen.
01:57Fourteen.
01:57So yeah, you kind of just moved straight into it.
01:59What age did you start working?
02:00Sixteen.
02:01Wow.
02:02Yeah.
02:02Four.
02:03Four.
02:03That's great.
02:04Wait, wait.
02:04I started when I was 13.
02:05When I started really working, I was nine.
02:06Yeah, I started when I was 13.
02:07So I'm the late bloomer.
02:10I think you're doing just fine.
02:11Fourteen.
02:12Fourteen.
02:12As much as I like hated the rule and was like,
02:14I want a boyfriend.
02:15I would go home and tell my mom and be like,
02:17oh, your rule saved me today.
02:18This gross boy asked me out.
02:20Yeah.
02:21My mom's fault.
02:21My mom says no.
02:23Exactly.
02:23I'm going to use that too.
02:25Our mom's always right.
02:26No.
02:27People have to be wrong.
02:27That's what makes them human.
02:28And as a mom, you have to say sorry.
02:30I think that's cool.
02:31You have to be willing to say I made a mistake.
02:32And that's a really important thing,
02:35is that you can have that kind of relationship
02:37with your kids where you go, hey, I'm not perfect,
02:40and I'm sorry about that, and I shouldn't have done that.
02:42And then the other thing, though, that I love
02:44is when they are right, and you go, oh my gosh,
02:46I wish I listened to you.
02:49Who's right in the movie, Brooke or Zara?
02:52I think we both just have a hard time hearing each other.
02:54I think we're both pretty darn cool in this movie.
02:58Although sometimes Zara has a bit of an overreaction
03:00to everything.
03:01I know, but Brooke is kind of sometimes overstepping
03:05some lines, right?
03:06No, you're perfect.
03:07You guys are just sweet to put up with my character's bulls**t.
03:09I know, we are.
03:11Hopefully, you'll have as much fun
03:12as we did with A Family Affair, and watch it only on Netflix.
