00:00Hello everyone, and welcome to this new edition of the Economic News Journal.
00:11We start our edition this Friday in Morocco.
00:14The commercialized products of coastal and artisanal fishing have recorded a return of 4% to 4.8 billion dirhams at the end of June, according to the National Fisheries Office.
00:25The weight of these products displayed more than 469,700 tons, a drop of 10% compared to the same period a year earlier, compared to the 722 tons of products of coastal and artisanal fishing that landed in the Mediterranean port entrances at the end of June, a 20% decline compared to the end of June of the previous year.
00:47As for the landings in the ports located on the Atlantic, they regressed by 10%, displaying more than 462,400 tons and 4%, thus establishing 4 billion dirhams.
01:00In national economic news as well, the automotive manufacturer Renault Group has just announced the launch of the production of Dacia Joker, a family vehicle in the factory in Tangier, where production is intended for the national market and export.
01:14It is the first vehicle manufactured in Morocco to integrate hybrid technology. For this model, which will be available as of September 20, Renault Group has a capacity of up to 120,000 vehicles per year.
01:26According to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, this event confirms the strengthening of the partnership between Marocco and Renault Group, but also testifies to the success of the Moroccan automotive platform, the expertise of its human capital and the great competitiveness of its local suppliers.
01:43In international economic news, the price increase in France in June reached 2.2% on an announcement at 0.1 points less than in May, a slowdown less marked than what was foreseen by a first estimate at 2.1%.
01:59Prices have only slightly increased in June compared to May, reports the National Statistical Institute, which calculated that the increase in service prices, estimated at 0.3% per month, and manufactured products was largely compensated for by a drop in food prices at 0.2% and energy at 0.8%.
02:20It is in particular the price of oil products, which continues to significantly drop to 1.9% compared to May. Inflation has been falling since September 2022, so its slow decline began last summer, after a small rebound in May, where it had progressed from 0.1 points compared to April.
02:40In a growing climate of tensions between Beijing and Brussels, Germany has announced the ban on components and technologies from Chinese groups Huawei and ZTE in all of its 5G networks for security reasons.
02:55The products of the two companies will no longer be used in the heart of the network by the end of 2026 or later, according to the Minister of the Interior. Huawei reacted on Friday by insisting that there is no specific evidence or scenario indicating that Huawei's technology poses risks in cybersecurity.
03:14With this decision, Germany is taking the step to several other Western countries. Washington has already banned the sale of equipment from five Chinese suppliers, including Huawei and ZTE. The United States is pressuring European countries to follow suit. Last year, the European Commission called on the 27 member countries and telecom operators to exclude Huawei and ZTE from their mobile networks.
03:37Still in line with China, country exports have increased sharply in June, while imports have recorded an unexpected decline, according to official figures, which translate as a fragile and unequal resumption of the second world economy.
03:52Last month, Chinese products and services sold abroad increased by 8.6% over a year, according to Chinese customs dollars. This rate is much higher than that of May, estimated at 7.6%, as well as analysts' forecasts, surveyed by the Bloomberg Agency at 8%.
04:11On their side, imports from the Asian giant experienced an unexpected drop of 2.3% in June. After two months of contraction, imports had experienced a sharp rebound in April at 8.4%, but the dynamics have since calmed down. Note that these data are published before an important political meeting, which begins on Monday in China, and should make economic recovery a priority.
04:41Thanks for watching!
