00:01:03the partnership with Hakimi and Ziyech. It's fun to watch. We've seen two or three clever

00:01:09free-kicks. This Dutch scored a great free-kick didn't they in the game against Argentina

00:01:14and we saw another one again so take us through it Skip. I think this is the best one actually.

00:01:20There's so much going in. I was mesmerised by the way they're set up and you'll see here

00:01:26they've got two players wide which the Moroccan defence don't know what to do, Kramaric and

00:01:30Orsic which then leaves this space for Perisic to run into but before that Modric looks like

00:01:37he's going to play it but it's Mahi who does it and Guardiola is there to get the goal

00:01:42and if you just look because of the movement the Moroccan defence has to drop which is

00:01:47keeping everybody onside which then leaves space in the middle of the goal and it was

00:01:52a wonderfully worked goal and it got the game off to a real good tempo. I think the

00:02:07thing in all set pieces what the most important thing is the second phase and you can see

00:02:11I think it's Amrabat in there. The ball goes over and he's already looking and your man's

00:02:16already gone and by the time you react it's too late so your initial reaction is as soon

00:02:20as the ball goes over your head you have to try and drop and get into a space. Also

00:02:24as Danny said in commentary as a coach when something like that comes off. I mean you're

00:02:29just celebrating you're just so happy you know because you try it out and everything

00:02:32needs to happen in perfection I mean from crossing the ball over to flicking it on to

00:02:37have that run from Guardiola to finish it off and obviously the other side from a coach

00:02:41is the nightmare because if you're only ball watching and kind of the other ones make the

00:02:46runs and you're on the other side of it meaning the Moroccan team then you're just under shock.

00:02:51This is really happening and so it was then the opposite going to the next goal you know

00:02:55the equaliser. Yeah because they weren't behind for very long and the man who created the

00:03:00first one inadvertently set up this one. Omeo with the assist right there look his hands

00:03:05on his head he's thinking I can't believe it. Literally within what seconds they go

00:03:09down the other end and this just shows once again how important set plays are when it

00:03:13comes to World Cups but once again we're talking about ball watching and letting your

00:03:17player run into a space and by the time the player's in there it's too late. Yeah you

00:03:22cannot react anymore you know they take their positions and if you're not in the right spot

00:03:28then if you don't read the ball far ahead you know then you're just going to watch them

00:03:33putting the ball in the back of the net. But I'm also getting from a defender's point of

00:03:38view Mike it's a split second reaction and if the ball is deflected up that sort of split

00:03:43second where you're not expected to do that. Yeah of course as well and that's why you

00:03:47see so many zonal nowadays as well because you just make sure you run back in your zone

00:03:54so the way that you're expected to push up as soon as that head goes you're like oh they're

00:03:59running that way you're running that way and it's hard to get back then and that's why.

00:04:03The problem is that you always think the other your body takes care of it you know in a zonal

00:04:07and that's where a lot of you saw a lot of teams now in this World Cup going back to men

00:04:11men against men marking. But you see Perisic's position there Perisic was holding his area

00:04:16no one's coming through here and he forgot what was on his on his shoulder which yeah created

00:04:21the space. At the time there was a slight debate in the studio about whether he meant this goal

00:04:27we all agree now that Orsic very much meant this. That's the striker Jürgen he meant it.

00:04:34No he meant it it's an absolute beauty. For the first moment I thought maybe it's a cross

00:04:41but obviously here it's great how they win the ball back Croatia right there in the final third

00:04:47and yeah I think he meant it it's a beauty yeah it's a beauty by Orsic. Because he didn't even

00:04:53look he knew what he wanted to execute there and it's just exquisite the technique and the finish

00:04:59on that I don't know if we've pressured you into making like saying that is he meant it Jürgen.

00:05:09tall kid obviously but he he was there with his fingertips but I didn't. I mean you can watch

00:05:17replay after replay of that it's so even better when it goes in off the post or in off the bar

00:05:22isn't it? Especially the keeper's fingertips as well then onto the post yeah delightful watching.

00:05:27We saw Morocco against France and they did create opportunities against France in the in the

00:05:32semi-final and they just didn't take them and we've seen something similar at times this afternoon.

00:05:37Yeah I think you're always going to get that quality with Ziyech he has been fantastic in

00:05:41this tournament as well and Hakimi going on that that wide role as well it's just about

00:05:47can he pick someone up. I actually think the striker runs a little bit too

00:05:53fast I think he should hold his run a little bit more but in terms of what they created

00:05:58they know that they're good enough to play at this level now which is which is brilliant

00:06:01I was talking about a corner there and Nazir has been a threat up front but just huffing and

00:06:06puffing I think they'll get another one in the second half though. I think what they've shown

00:06:10again today displayed is the confidence on the ball and knowing that whoever they're up against

00:06:15that they're able their technicians the number of talents that they've got in that team

00:06:19and I think like you said it's just that end product now that final bit.

00:08:39to the games and cheering on their countries.

00:08:41It's a very very good place to meet the football fans especially when matches ends and people

00:08:46come out of the stadium they come here and start to sing like songs of their national team.

00:08:53We are starting supporting our team from here into the stadium.

00:08:59Everyone has a really good vibe, they love the music,

00:09:03the people here in Qatar is so happy, so friendly.

00:09:08Because it's all held in one city it's a good place for everyone to be in one place.

00:09:14It's a party atmosphere, it's a carnival atmosphere.

00:09:30Without a shadow of a doubt the Brazilians are the noisiest.

00:09:33The French yesterday were pretty loud after they won.

00:09:36People from Argentina and Mexico were crazy.

00:09:39We're all here for one thing, for the football, I think that's the main thing.

00:09:43And amongst all of those groups of fans it is Morocco's who've made

00:09:51one of the greatest impressions.

00:09:53This is their story.

00:09:58Whenever you'd watch a match the stadium would be literally shaking.

00:10:05It's as if we play at home.

00:10:08We're the underdog.

00:10:11We are lions, we don't give up.

00:10:14We are the underdog.

00:10:20Football has been a very big part of Morocco since forever.

00:10:29We're very very patriotic people.

00:10:33The national anthem is a very sacred thing and

00:10:36we get literal goosebumps whenever we hear the national anthem.

00:10:44I think it's safe to say that the Moroccan fans are the best in the world.

00:10:50Moroccan fans are incredible.

00:10:51We are very proud as a nation.

00:10:55We're super proud that the whole world is watching us.

00:10:58For the World Cup to be taking place in an Arabic country is a pride.

00:11:04It's going to change a lot of things in the Arabic world, trust me.

00:11:07Nobody believed that an African country could ever ever accomplish what Morocco just did.

00:11:14So it's a historic country.

00:11:16And to go this far.

00:11:17This will never be forgotten.

00:11:21I think Morocco is giving an example.

00:11:24A lot of African Arab countries and a lot of small countries will start to believe in themselves.

00:11:32I'm proud of the team, proud of the coach.

00:11:34You know Morocco would really love to host the World Cup.

00:11:38Only be the beginning.

00:11:41Only be the beginning of much more to come.

00:11:44It's something that we're going to tell our kids and our grandkids.

00:11:49Amazing to tell the story.

00:11:58We heard a fan there, Alex, say, you know, this is going to change things.

00:12:03And we won't know until the next tournament and so on and so forth.

00:12:06But the platform is there for it to change.

00:12:09And just seeing that, it's a reminder of how beautiful this sport can be.

00:12:13To every young boy and girl growing up, like this Moroccan team has epitomized absolutely

00:12:19everything, playing with heart, what the shirt means and connecting people.

00:12:24And I think what they've also reminded us is, I think sometimes in the UK,

00:12:28we get caught in a European bubble.

00:12:30Well, I think this tournament has shown us football's always, it's more than that.

00:12:35And this Moroccan team, like the woman said in the VT, it's historic.

00:12:38And I hope it now continues.

00:12:40And a Moroccan journalist said to me before the semi-final,

00:12:42this isn't just about the belief it puts in Morocco.

00:12:45It's about the belief it puts in other countries in the future who have believed

00:12:51maybe that they don't have a chance at these tournaments, wherever they are in the world.

00:12:55Yeah, and I think that was the biggest maybe wish or the dream of Qatar,

00:13:01but also the Arab world, that one team breaks through and shows the world that they are

00:13:06capable to compete on the world stage.

00:13:09And with Morocco, the story of Morocco is unique, but also Tunisia, you found some

00:13:15surprising moments in this World Cup that you never expected.

00:13:19So this is a huge boost for the Arab world from an entire perspective.

00:13:25And the fans as well.

00:13:26The fans have been the best.

00:13:28Argentinian fans have been great.

00:13:29But I think the Morocco fans have just took it to the next level.

00:13:34It would have been a hugely poorer tournament.

00:13:37Without, yeah.

00:13:38I mean, you go to some all European games and the atmospheres have been absolutely terrible.

00:13:43I mean, England, France was an awful atmosphere.

00:13:53They've absolutely set the tournament alight and long may continue.
