00:00You're just in time because this is the start of the 3rd part of our 6th Anniversary Special.
00:13And we'll be celebrating the underwater heroes of Alamos, Pangkasinan.
00:19But you'll be surprised because one of them is already a member of the Seniors Club.
00:24Let's meet the grandmother superhero of Karaganan.
00:29This is Lola Erlina, 65 years old, but she doesn't know many.
00:34She's also an underwater superhero.
00:41Because Lola is a scuba surfer.
00:45I've been a scuba surfer for 15 years.
00:48All of our associations here in 100 Islands have volunteers who are joining to clean the island.
00:58Scuba surfers usually target Quezon Island, Governors Island and Children's Island for their clean-up drive
01:05because this is where tourists usually go.
01:09But if there are more tourists, it's also possible that there will be more garbage.
01:16We're now here at Governors Island for the clean-up drive.
01:19I already brought the snorkel and fishnet for the boat.
01:28The weirdest thing is the fishnet.
01:31Maybe if your snorkel is weak, you'll really drown.
01:35But you have to remove it.
01:37Even though she's not a scuba diver, Lola Erlina still goes to the ocean to collect the garbage that tourists usually leave unattended.
01:46That's why the certified scuba divers she's with, as well as the corals, are being inspected.
01:53That's why we clean the island every day so that the visitors will be attracted to our place.
02:01And all of our garbage is returned to the mainland.
02:06But Lola Erlina is not alone in her fight against garbage.
02:13Watch out.
02:14100 Islands is one of the 35 national parks in the country.
02:18And because it was established in 1940, it's well-known all over the world.
02:23That's why a group of scuba divers came here.
02:26And what they want to achieve is to maintain cleanliness and safety.
02:30And they're rich in resources.
02:32They are the underwater superheroes.
02:38Since 2018, we've been doing this every month at 100 Islands National Park.
02:45We are scuba divers.
02:48We have 13 divers.
02:52Some of them are just snorkeling.
02:55They are in Sampuco.
02:57We have different agencies.
03:00We also have volunteers and sponsors who help us to do this.
03:08And for those who want to volunteer,
03:10to contribute to our city environment and natural resources,
03:17you should have experience in scuba diving.
03:21Or you should be able to undergo underwater training.
03:28Guess how many kilos of garbage scuba divers usually collect?
03:34That's up to 100 kilos.
03:37That's why their motto is,
03:39If you collect garbage, take it home.
03:42For everything they do, our scuba divers are certified amazing divers.
