00:00How long can you hold your breath under water?
00:04Around 20 to 30 seconds?
00:06Veteran freedivers can hold their breath for more than 2 minutes.
00:10That's what Michael V and Sparkle artist, Briana, are mastering.
00:14Let's think about her freediving journey.
00:21The dream of many young women is to become a mermaid.
00:26Now, it's possible to make it a reality with the help of underwater sport, freediving.
00:35Freediving or swimming under the sea without breathing equipment
00:39is one of the passions of Sparkle artist and singer, Briana.
00:45Michael V is serious about his sport.
00:50The magical thing about freediving is just spending time underwater
00:54and you have to be in a very relaxed state.
00:56When I was young, I loved playing mermaid in the pool.
01:01Those who don't know how to breathe can freely dive.
01:04Freediving and swimming are pretty similar in the techniques used in body movement.
01:09The only difference is the breath-hold techniques.
01:12One of the most famous freediving spots in the Philippines can be found in Anilo, Batangas.
01:19It has also been explored in other world-class freediving sites.
01:23My most intensive training was in Mayakoron Dive Camp.
01:28When we visited there for the training, I saw a barracuda.
01:31Actually, barracuda is a very rare sighting.
01:36Briana has already mastered the underwater breathing techniques in freediving.
01:41Her latest achievement is to dive 63 feet deep.
01:46The secret is the intense freediving training that you can watch.
01:52The secret is to dive 63 feet deep.
01:55The secret is to dive 63 feet deep.
01:58The secret is to dive 63 feet deep.
02:01The secret is the intense freediving training that you can watch.
02:05The sparkle artist is Briana.
02:07There is a special ability to dive under the sea for more than 2 minutes.
02:12How?
02:13Let's take a look at her amazing training in freediving.
02:18Hi amazing people!
02:20Briana here.
02:21And I have a question for you.
02:22Are you afraid to breathe or dive in deep waters?
02:26No problem.
02:27No problem.
02:28Because in freediving, it's all together.
02:31Everybody is welcome to try it.
02:35The first step is to undergo training.
02:37Which is what we're going to do today.
02:39And for beginners, we can start by training in a swimming pool.
02:46I'm here with Ms. Leifere, a sea zone safety diver.
02:51Sige Yani, we can start with our wet static exercise.
02:55Or static exercise.
02:56So you may now face the water and start your relaxation.
03:01So relax your arms, your shoulders, your neck, including your legs.
03:06Two things to consider to start your freediving journey.
03:09First is to take the intro class.
03:12And then second is to take a certification course.
03:15Why? Because freediving is all about safety.
03:19Officially, I started in 2022 in this very scuba studio.
03:25And I was with my first class, my dad.
03:28My parents are actually more tense with my mom.
03:32Which is normal, I guess. I guess it's a mom thing.
03:35Of course, at first, they were both hesitant.
03:38Just because freediving is, like come to think of it, it's pretty scary.
03:42Again, having to hold your breath and diving in deep waters.
03:46Golden rule po, never dive alone.
03:49Kasi kailangan na somebody's looking out for you for your safety.
03:55Ngayon, gusto na rin magturo na Brianna ng freediving.
04:00And I highly recommend freediving because you'll be ready to explore the underwater world just with one breath.
04:09Bring it on, Brianna. Isa kang tunay na amazing underwater adventure.
