Blackpool boss discusses bids for Seasiders pair

Blackpool head coach responds to reported bids for Kyle Joseph and Jordan Lawrence-Gabriel respectively.

00:05Clubs can certainly make inquiries about our players,

00:08and I would hope that clubs are making inquiries about our players,

00:11because it means we've got good players.

00:14Kyle's here, he's our player,

00:17and he's worked extremely well in pre-season so far,

00:21and we're looking forward to working with him for the next few weeks and beyond.

00:28Last season, a move from Swansea, he came injured,

00:33and unfortunately had an injury that kept him out for a long period of time.

00:39So, I think both of us would want it to have gone better,

00:43but we signed him because of the potential that we thought he had,

00:49and we're hoping to see that in the future.

00:52Based on the frustrating time he had last year with injury missing pre-season,

00:56with a full sum under his belt, could he be like a new signing?

00:59If he's at Bloomfield Road next year, could he offer something new?

01:02Yes, definitely. I hope so, yes.

01:05I'd say he's come back in really good condition.

01:07He looks as though he's improved physically and looks stronger,

01:10and he's looked really sharp in pre-season.

01:13So, I'm very much hoping that he can have a really big season for us.

01:19Another player who's been linked again with a move away,

01:22with teams bidding for him, is Jordan Gabriel.

01:24What's the situation with Jordan at the moment?

01:26Yes, it's the same as the Kyle situation.

01:29Clubs are perfectly within their rights to inquire about our players,

01:35because we inquire about other clubs' players.

01:38If clubs weren't inquiring about our players, I'd be worried.

01:43Now Jordan's with us, he's training,

01:47he knows how Jordan feels about Blackpool and his time at the football club.

01:52Again, you've got to look at last season, he didn't return to play until November.

01:56He was out for a good six months with the injury that he's had,

01:59so we're hopeful that he can have a clean bill of health in pre-season.

02:05He's never really completed a proper pre-season,

02:09so this is a really important time for him.

02:12If we can build up his fitness and build up his rhythm,

02:17then there's no reason why he can't have a really good season for us.
