Steve Bruce discusses Josh Onomah's move to Blackpool

Ex-Tottenham midfielder Josh Onomah has joined Blackpool on a short-term deal following a successful trial with the club.

Seasiders head coach Steve Bruce knows the 27-year-old well, having worked with him at both Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday.

00:00On Josh, obviously he's a short-term contract until January, is that sort of a target for him to prove himself again, he's proven himself to get the deal?
00:06Yep, yep, that's exactly it. Can he force himself into the team? Can he get fit? Can he stay well? Once he gets his opportunity, can he grasp it?
00:16It's not an ability with Josh, I know him, he's got a real, real, real, real great ability. It's just getting him up to being out for the best part of 14 months or wherever it is.
00:28He hasn't kicked a ball, hasn't played 90 minutes in something like two and a half years. So in that respect, it's going to be difficult for him, but he's doing everything he possibly can to try and get himself into some physical shape.
00:40And if he does, which we believe he's close, then he can only add a bit of quality to us. He's a very, very good player who can play in a lot of positions. So we're delighted to have him.
