The RON95 petrol subsidy rationalisation must be implemented carefully to avoid burdening the public, says a government lawmaker.
During the question session in the Dewan Rakyat on Thursday (July 11), Datuk Seri Dr. Wee Ka Siong (BN-Ayer Hitam) queried Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli about the relationship between the information from the Central Database Hub (Padu) and the Budi Madani aid program, and whether net disposable income and locality parameters were considered for Budi Madani.
Rafizi confirmed that information from Budi Madani is cross-checked with Padu, and added that the government is finalising a standard operating procedure (SOP) for agencies to use Padu data for program development and cross-checking.

01:05with PADU does happen.
01:07If we compare it to before, without PADU, for example,
01:13when a government program is announced,
01:19requests are made.
01:20These requests need to be collected one by one.
01:23So, we need data from various departments,
01:26from LHDN, JPJ, etc.
01:31So, the collection process is actually long.
01:34And if there are hundreds of thousands of requests,
01:37that is what delays it.
01:39So now, requests are made to get help from BUDI Madani.
01:47Behind it, the collection is done by PADU.
01:52Then, about the parameters,
01:54the parameters are set by MOF, of course.
01:58But after taking into account the macro and granular data,
02:04which is now being referred to the government.
02:07So, every ministry or agency that wants to develop their own assistance program,
02:13is different from before, where each has to look for data
02:17and has their own parameters.
02:19The parameters are set by PADU,
02:22but it is still up to each ministry and agency to set the parameters.

02:30about 400,000 people who own a diesel vehicle
02:38and their annual income is less than 100,000,
02:41they should be eligible to get it
02:44because most of them are small businesses
02:51that use pickup trucks for business.

03:07so that each ministry that wants to develop their own program,
03:12they can get data from PADU
