Some RM86.3mil has been channelled to various ministries and agencies involved in the Madani village adoption programme as of July 10, says the Finance Ministry.
Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan said the amount covers 35 of the villages identified for the programme nationwide, adding that RM100mil had been allocated for the 42 villages in total under the programme.

00:04Kampung Angkat Medani was introduced in 2024
00:09to determine the best guidelines in ensuring the achievement of basic facilities such as
00:15water, electricity, roads, traffic lights, community facilities, and internet access
00:21can be improved through the whole-of-government mechanism with permission.
00:26The objective of the implementation of Kampung Angkat Medani is to
00:30find the best way to facilitate and speed up the implementation of small projects in the village,
00:37close the gap in basic facilities between villages and cities,
00:42complete the basic facilities of the neighboring villages holistically,
00:46and recognize the best way to solve the problem.
00:52The main criteria for selecting a village is a village that has a facility coverage below 50%,
01:03or has a weak and incomplete basic facility,
01:08and requires special attention to complete the basic facilities.
01:16The chosen village will be the best benchmark in helping the government
01:22to close the gap between villages and cities.
01:25This includes empowering the village head or village authorities and local communities
01:33through the approach of Gotong Royong,
01:36as well as facilitating procedures, procurement, and finance
01:41to help complete the infrastructure project in the chosen villages.
01:46There are two types of facilities provided to Kampung Angkat Medani,
01:52namely physical and non-physical.
01:55The physical project includes improving the village roads,
01:59traffic lights, water supply, electricity, internet access,
02:04the non-physical project includes improving the bridge,
02:08building pipes, building ramps,
02:13providing basic facilities for education and health,
02:17as well as programs to promote food and revenue sources.
02:25Meanwhile, the non-physical project includes assistance in local areas
02:33such as the registration of JKM, IKASIH, STR, SARA,
02:38government assistance such as health insurance,
02:42housing, mobile banks, Mekar and Bunibandani programs,
02:47as well as children's and adolescents' education guidance programs.
02:53For this program, the government has allocated RM100 million
02:58to 42 Kampung Angkat Medani villages across the country
03:02with a maximum allocation of up to RM2.5 million for each village.
03:10From that amount, as of 10 July 2024,
03:15the Ministry of Forestry has allocated RM86.3 million
03:19to the ministries and agencies involved,
03:22including 35 villages that are identified.
