00:00Energy Security and the Variability of Renewable Energy.

00:04This is the theme of the Power 102 training that was initiated by the Department of Energy

00:08together with developers from the private sector, as well as members of the regional and national media.

00:14This is an activity that is said to broaden the knowledge of those who were invited to participate

00:19to better understand the issues that the energy sector is facing,

00:23in particular, the importance of renewable energy and how it can help

00:28in climate change and the development of the Philippine economy.

00:31Meanwhile, according to the latest data of the Energy Regulatory Commission or ERC this July,

00:37there are 117 generation facilities nationwide.

00:41Currently, this is the Green Auction No. 4 of the DOE

00:45which is a combination of the Renewable Energy and Energy Storage System

00:49that is expected to provide more than 8,200 megawatts to the entire country.

00:56So we expect that the target set by the President for us,

01:00the 100 percent electrification by 2028, if we are given the budget of 72 billion, is achievable.
