00:27Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything by Linda Williams, illustrated by Megan Lloyd.
00:36Once upon a time, there was a little old lady who was not afraid of anything.
00:45One windy afternoon, the little old lady left her cottage and went for a walk in the forest
00:51to collect herbs and spices, nuts and seeds.
00:59She walked so long and so far that it started to get dark.
01:04There was only a sliver of moon shining through the night.
01:07The little old lady started to walk home.
01:14Suddenly she stopped.
01:16Right in the middle of the path were two big shoes, and the shoes went clomp-clomp.
01:26Get out of my way, you two big shoes!
01:29I'm not afraid of you, said the little old lady.
01:33On she walked down the path, but behind her she could hear two shoes go clomp-clomp.
01:43A little farther on, the little old lady stumbled into a pair of pants, and the pants
01:48went wiggle-wiggle.
01:49Get out of my way, you pair of pants!
01:53I'm not afraid of you, said the little old lady, and she walked on, but behind her she
01:59could hear two shoes go clomp-clomp, and one pair of pants go wiggle-wiggle.
02:10Farther still, the little old lady bumped into a shirt, and the shirt went shake-shake.
02:17Get out of my way, you silly shirt!
02:19I'm not afraid of you, said the little old lady, and on she walked a little bit faster,
02:26but behind her she could hear two shoes go clomp-clomp, one pair of pants go wiggle-wiggle,
02:37and one shirt go shake-shake.
02:40A little ways on, the little old lady came upon two white gloves and a tall black hat,
02:47and the gloves went clap-clap, and the hat went nod-nod.
02:52Get out of my way, you two white gloves and you tall black hat!
02:56I'm not afraid of you, she said, and on she walked just a little bit faster, but behind
03:03her she could hear two shoes go clomp-clomp.
03:10One pair of pants go wiggle-wiggle, one shirt go shake-shake, two gloves go clap-clap, and
03:18one hat go nod-nod.
03:21By now, the little old lady was walking at quite a fast pace.
03:25She was very near her cottage when she was startled by a very huge, very orange, very
03:31scary pumpkin head, and the head went...
03:37Boo! Boo!
03:43This time, the little old lady did not stop to talk.
03:47She did not stop at all.
03:49She ran, but behind her she could hear two shoes go clomp-clomp, one pair of pants go
03:56wiggle-wiggle, one shirt go shake-shake, two gloves go clap-clap, one hat go nod-nod, and
04:05one scary pumpkin head go Boo! Boo!
04:12The little old lady did not look back.
04:15She ran as fast as she could and didn't stop to catch her breath until she was safe inside
04:21her cottage with the door locked.
04:24She sat in her chair by the fire, and she rocked and she rocked.
04:28It was so quiet in her cottage before the knock-knock on the door.
04:34Should she answer it?
04:35Well, she was not afraid of anything, so she went to the door and opened it.
04:42What do you think she saw?
04:46Two shoes go clomp-clomp, one pair of pants go wiggle-wiggle, one shirt go shake-shake,
04:55two gloves go clap-clap, one hat go nod-nod, and one scary pumpkin head go Boo! Boo!
05:03I am not afraid of you, said the little old lady bravely.
05:08What do you want anyway?
05:10We've come to scare you.
05:13You can't scare me, said the little old lady.
05:16Then what's to become of us?
05:19The pumpkin head suddenly looked unhappy.
05:23I have an idea, said the little old lady.
05:27She whispered into the pumpkin's ear.
05:30The pumpkin head nodded, and its face seemed to brighten.
05:34The little old lady said good night, closed the door, and whistled on her way to bed.
05:43The next morning, she woke up early.
05:46She went to her window and looked out into her garden.
05:50And what do you think she saw?
05:52Two shoes go clomp-clomp, one pair of pants go wiggle-wiggle, one shirt go shake-shake,
06:00two gloves go clap-clap, one hat go nod-nod, and one scary pumpkin head go Boo! Boo!
06:11And scare all the crows away.
06:19I hope you enjoyed that story.
