00:00Since the Solar for Rakyat Incentive Scheme, also known as Solaris, was introduced on April 1st, 2024,
00:09more than 667 NEM users have managed to prepare solar system installation
00:16and received Solaris rebates with a majority of RM5,000-RM4,000 per user.
00:21In terms of the concept, the implementation of Solaris to reduce the cost of solar system installation
00:26for domestic users must have economies of scale with permission
00:30and enable solar system installation for the people to be more affordable.
00:35This step will also increase the uptake of solar installation among domestic users
00:40and indirectly contribute to the target of increasing the capacity of Boleh Baharu Energy or TBB
00:47in accordance with the plan of the State Energy Agency or NETA.
00:52Analysis of the demand trend shows that the average number of demands
00:56for NEM Rakyat has increased from about 100 demands a day to 150 demands a day
01:03after the launch of the Solaris Scheme.
01:06In addition, continuous efforts are also carried out to optimize energy use
01:11through energy saving initiatives and energy demand management in a more effective way.
01:18PETRA has set a target to reduce electricity demand by 8%,
01:23which is equivalent to a saving of approximately 50,000 GWh
01:29as well as reducing greenhouse gas emissions or GHG by 38 million tons of CO2
01:36over a period of 10 years under the implementation of the State Energy Agency Act 2016-2025.
01:45In this context, PETRA has launched the Sustainability Achievement Programme
01:49via Energy Efficiency or better known as SAFE 4.0 on 10 December 2023
01:58with a budget of Rp 50 million.
02:01This SAFE 4.0 programme provides a rebate of up to Rp 400 to domestic users
02:07for the purchase of air conditioners and refrigerators labeled 4 and 5 stars
02:12by the Energy Efficiency Agency.
02:14The implementation of the SAFE programme will enable users to buy electric appliances
02:17that are energy efficient at a cheaper price
02:20and benefit from the savings in the electric bill.
02:24With the advice of the Honourable,
02:27so that electric cables can be moved if there is a sale or a move to a house,
02:33the SAFE programme will be discussed at the SEDA level
02:37and a fund will be released to the public.
02:40For SAFE, the fund is first come first serve
02:45because we want to open it as soon as possible.
02:50So far, it is still running
02:53and we encourage more people to take the opportunity under this SAFE 2.0 programme.
03:00With a budget of Rp 50 million,
03:02the SAFE programme is still running
03:04and if it is running out,
03:06we will see and study how we can continue this programme
03:10in line with the existing funds.
03:13In relation to solar power for households,
03:19with the existence of the solaris programme
03:23or solar for the people that we have presented,
03:27the cost of installation will decrease.
03:30With that, we hope that the economic cost of scale will increase.
03:34When the cost decreases,
03:36more people will be able to install solar in their homes
03:40and we hope to reduce their electric bill.
03:46That is our target
03:48and we will study this programme
03:51and how we can improve it in the future.
03:55Thank you.
