00:00If I'm being honest, probably the dolphins
00:04when I was doing the new Adventures of Flipper.
00:07Hi, I'm Jessica Alba, and I'm about to get very honest.
00:11If I'm being honest, the first moment I knew I was famous
00:16was when my parents pitched a tent in their front yard
00:21and had a stack of headshots for me to sign,
00:25and literally hundreds of people lined up at Christmas.
00:29If I'm being honest, there's so many.
00:32It's hard to choose from.
00:35Jeans and dresses, that was a combo.
00:37I did a lot.
00:39I owned that era.
00:42Doesn't need to come back.
00:43To be honest, the first time I presented at the Oscars,
00:47I was in this gold Versace dress.
00:50I remember I went to Donatella's Atelier in Milan
00:55and just, like, gossiping with her.
00:57And basically, it was like her closet
00:59and trying on these insanely beautiful gowns
01:03and then flying home and going to the show.
01:07But I felt like I had won.
01:08I was like, I made it, you know?
01:10I had such bad imposter syndrome.
01:12It was kind of the first time I really felt kind of embraced
01:16or accepted by Hollywood, to be honest.
01:19Of course, Honey Daniels, because she is a trained dancer
01:23where Nancy feels more self-taught.
01:26But if you're going to go down a dark alley with someone,
01:30I'd take Nancy, because she could also throw down,
01:33I think, in a way that Honey probably couldn't.
01:36If I'm being honest, probably the dolphins
01:40when I was doing the new Adventures of Flipper.
01:43I was going through a lot as a teenager,
01:45and it was a very healing experience.
01:48If I'm being honest, one time I had to stick up for myself
01:53on a set that I can remember vividly
01:55was on the set of Into the Blue.
01:59They wanted me to get in the water with a tiger shark,
02:02and they put Chum in the water, and I was like, no way in hell.
02:06And I basically told the director
02:07he can go in the water if he wanted to,
02:10but I wasn't going to.
02:11And I remember feeling weird about it,
02:13because it was like me having to stand up
02:15to all these grown men, and I felt still really young.
02:18But I'm proud of myself for doing that at a young age.
02:20Probably Dark Angel.
02:21I think when I was like 17 or 18 and really kind of carrying
02:27a one-hour action drama, it was a lot.
02:30And I felt such a respect and allegiance with the crew,
02:34and I really fell in love with the collaboration of making,
02:39telling stories, and creating with the crew.
02:42It was awesome.
02:44And frankly, that's how I walk into every set,
02:46with that same respect for everyone behind the camera.
02:49It's just as important, if not more, I would say,
02:51than the people in front.
02:53If I'm being honest, 2004 Jessica was swaggy,
02:57but still very insecure.
02:59And I would say the 2024 Jessica is, I'm standing,
03:04I feel totally in my power.
03:06Honestly, I'd love for you to watch Trigger Warning.
03:09It's only on Netflix.
