00:00A special day for Colombia say them through to the competition semifinals as well as breaking
00:04multiple records.
00:06They will face the winner of Brazil-Uruguay in the next round on July 10 at Bank of America
00:11Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.
00:14When the dust finally settled following Colombia's 5-0 victory over Panama in the CONMEBOL Copa
00:19America quarterfinals, Los Cafeteros had plenty of reasons to celebrate.
00:24Besides the obvious feat of reaching the tournament semifinals, the Colombians achieved plenty
00:29of other feats on Saturday afternoon.
00:32For one, their 5-0 victory against Panama marked their largest margin of victory at
00:36the tournament in their history.
00:39Their previous record came in 1979 in a 4-0 win against Venezuela.
00:44Only four other teams have achieved a victory of five or more goals in the CONMEBOL Copa
00:48America knockout rounds.
00:51If you've been following Colombia through the tournament, you've also probably noticed
00:55the numbers of headers they've scored.
00:57With two games left to go, Colombia are actually the first team in the 21st century to score
01:02four headers in one edition.
01:04A key reason for the successful headed goals is because of the fantastic service from captain
01:09James Rodriguez.
01:11Since Opta started tracking assists in 2011, Rodriguez became only the second player to
01:16reach five assists in one edition.
01:19He reached that mark against Panama where he recorded two assists and a goal.
01:24All three of those goals Rodriguez was involved in happened in the first half, only the second
01:28time Colombia has scored three goals in the first 45 minutes of this competition, the
01:33first being in 1957.
01:35The win against Panama also ensured that Colombia would equal their longest ever unbeaten streak
01:40in country history at 27 matches.
01:43In their current streak, Colombia has had 21 wins in 6 draws.
01:48In their previous streak, Los Cafeteros had 13 wins in 14 draws.
01:53The entire Colombian team has enjoyed a wonderful tournament so far, but another standout has
01:58been winger Luis Diaz.
02:01Against Panama he scored his sixth ever CONMEBOL Copa America goal, which made him his country's
02:05third highest scorer in the competition, now only behind Victor Aristizabal, 8, and Arnaldo
02:10Aguarin, 10.
02:12As Colombia's perfect run to the semi-finals continues, they'll be proud to know how much
02:17they've already accomplished, and emboldened with how much more they can achieve.
