00:00Hi guys and welcome to DriveSpark, I'm Prameet, what you see behind me is the Rambagh Palace
00:09of Jaipur and we have come here to drive this, now this is the all-new Mercedes-Benz EQA,
00:15the latest electric offering from Mercedes and this is their fourth electric car in the
00:19Indian market.
00:20So, let's quickly start this video and I'll tell you everything you need to know about
00:24this electric SUV.
00:32So, let's quickly start off with the front end of the vehicle and the very first thing
00:35you will see is this massive grille, now this is a fixed grille, it does not need ventilation
00:39because it does not have an engine in it, so this is the Mercedes logo, that's the front
00:43parking camera and you obviously have the radar for the ADAS system that works in sync
00:48with that camera over there right underneath the IRVM, so yeah, they work in sync and you
00:52get your level 2 ADAS features, apart from that, you can see over here, it gets the LED
00:58headlamp treatment over here with the blue accent, that obviously it's an electric car,
01:02so you have the blue accent, the DRLs are on top, all LED, you get a projector for the
01:06low beam and a reflector for the high beam, other than that, you do not get any fog lights,
01:10but you get the piano black inserts where the fog lights are and you get a decent amount
01:14of chrome at the front.
01:16This car is available in seven colour options, this is one of the new colours, that is this
01:20matte grey colour, so moving on to the side, you can see you get these 19-inch AMG wheels
01:26and one more thing, this particular vehicle is based on the Mercedes-Benz GLA, so it exactly
01:32looks like the GLA, the height, width, length, everything remains the same, nothing has changed,
01:38so yeah, you get the 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels from AMG, moving on to the side, you
01:43get very minimalistic body lines that transform the headlight to the taillight, you get brushed
01:48aluminium finish, you get brushed aluminium roof rails, a black roof, obviously, it has
01:53a panoramic sunroof on top, no shark fin antenna whatsoever and if you see over here, the body
01:58cladding that you get runs all the way on the side of the car as well, where there is
02:03a little bit of chrome accent, you get 200 mm of ground clearance that is unlaid, but
02:08when there are people sitting in the car, depends on the weight, so it can be somewhere
02:12between 150 to 160, if all the passengers are sitting.
02:16This actually sums up the side profile of the car and when you move to the back, so
02:20over here, you will see again, the same resemblance as the GLA, but you obviously have different
02:25badgings, so you have the EQA 250 plus badging over here, then there is nothing else, you
02:30have the Mercedes logo, you get this connected LED tail lamp over here and again, you get
02:34a wiper along with the washer, you get a spoiler, a high-stop mount light and obviously, you
02:39get some chrome over here, now this chrome part is really nice, when you're putting luggage
02:43over here, this will not scratch the paint or damage the bumper, so to open boot, you
02:48just have to press the logo, the boot will flip open, so as you can see over here, you
02:52get 340 litre of boot space that is with the seats folded up, when you fold down the second
02:58row, obviously, you get around more than 1300 litres of boot space, so if you're two people
03:02travelling and with a lot of luggage, you can fold either side or fold both sides down,
03:06depending on how much luggage you want to carry and once again, you just hit this button
03:10to close it, since it gets an electric boot, so this sums up the exterior of the car, now
03:14let's go on the inside and I'll tell you more about that.
03:23Now, let's quickly hop on to the inside and let me just start the car, so this is how
03:29the interior of the all-new Mercedes-Benz EQA 250 plus looks like, now the first striking
03:35thing is this, obviously, the AC vents, you get the bronze finishing, again, looks really
03:40awesome, you get the piano black finishing, brushed aluminium finishing, you can see you
03:43get this accent on the dashboard, you have soft touch materials all over, so you can
03:47see you get a flat bottom steering wheel, you do not get an AMG steering wheel and over
03:52here, you get your touchscreen, you get your cluster, I mean, everything on the inside
03:56also remains like the same you get on the GLA, you get a heads-up display over here
04:00that's very sharp, very crisp and you can see you get this sunroof that is split in
04:05two, so I mean, the rear passengers can also enjoy the view from behind and plus you have
04:10a massive roof over here and you can see that the sun, that the front glass opens up revealing
04:15a massive sunroof, with one touch, you can close it and apart from that, you've got,
04:19so both seats are electronically adjustable, both seats have memory options and apart from
04:23that, you can see you get your wireless charging, you get cup holders, you get bottle holders
04:28on the door and you also get a 12-speaker Burmester sound system with Dolby Atmos, that
04:34sounds really amazing, so you have 11 speakers in cabin and one subwoofer at the boot, so
04:40everything put together, the car is just fantastic, so you can see the rear seat, I mean, the
04:45rear seat is also nice, it can easily fit in three people, but two will be very comfortable,
04:50the decent amount of legroom, knee room and headroom, plus you can see that the panoramic
04:54sunroof, the second part of it, is right below, so you can enjoy the weather outside
04:58as well and little bit about space, so you have a cubby hole over here, then you have
05:03again storage space over here, so, lot of storage space, lot of practicality within
05:08the car and I think this is really a car that you should consider because, I mean, yeah,
05:15the GLA is a nice car, but this is even better because this is electric, so this sums up
05:20the interior, now let's talk about the power, the motor and everything that is the main
05:25part of this vehicle.
05:37So now let's talk about the main part of the vehicle, that is the motor and the battery
05:40pack, so the EQA 250 plus is powered by a 70.5 kilowatt hour battery pack and apart
05:48from that, this car produces around 190 bhp of power and 340 Nm of peak torque, well,
05:55I mean, the power and the torque figures are obviously very nice and being an electric
05:58car, you don't have power loss, so immediately, whatever speed you are, you just put your
06:03foot down and the car will shoot, apart from that, you can see over here, you have this
06:06dynamic mode, so you have your comfort, eco, sport and individual, these are four modes,
06:12preferably the eco mode is for a long range, the sport is for when you want to belt around
06:17and the comfort is a mix of both eco and sport is where we recommend you to drive within
06:22the city, apart from that, since this is an electric car, so obviously, you will be asking
06:28what's the range like and what's the charging time of this vehicle, so this vehicle gets
06:34two charging options, you have an AC and a DC, so you have an AC 11 kilowatt charger,
06:40that will charge the car from 0 to 100, somewhere between 7.5 to 8 hours, you can consider it
06:47as an 8 hour charge from 0 to 100 and the DC charging, that's a 100 kilowatt fast charging,
06:53they'll charge it from 10 to 80% in just half an hour or to be precise, 35 to 40 minutes,
06:59so yeah, that's how fast the 100 kilowatt charger is, but obviously, that's not accessible
07:03to everyone, so I mean, 7 to 8 hours is also a pretty good thing and once you have charged
07:08this car, this car can go, what Mercedes claims is that this car can go up to 560 kilometres
07:13on a single charge, but that's obviously tested in a controlled environment, so realistically,
07:19the real world range should be somewhere between 450 to 500, that depends on how you drive,
07:24on what mode you drive, so this is the motor option that you get, you get a single motor
07:30option with the EQA and apart from that, the suspension setup, I mean, it remains the same
07:35as the GLA, but obviously, they have tweaked it because obviously, this car is slightly
07:39heavier because of the battery pack that is placed right underneath the body and because
07:45of that, I mean, you don't get electronic damper, so you cannot adjust the rebound of
07:49the vehicle or make the vehicle soft or hard, you obviously don't get airmatic in this car,
07:55it's just a regular coilover setup that you get, but I mean, it is pretty planted, the
08:02car stays pretty planted, you can move it from here and there, flick the steering wheel,
08:06it does not have a lot of body roll, feels balanced and apart from that, the steering
08:11wheel is nice, it's an electronic steering wheel, so obviously, when you change the mode,
08:14the steering wheel hardens or softens according to it, but in the comfort mode is what I told
08:18you before is the best setting, it's neither too hard nor too soft, manoeuvring in the
08:23city is also easy, while if you are, while if you're driving fast and want to flick lanes,
08:29that will also help you, so yeah, that actually sums up the EQA and if you are looking for
08:36an electric car and if you have the budget, you can definitely go and check this out.
08:42So yeah, guys, this was the all-new Mercedes-Benz EQA 250 Plus and this car is available in
08:48just one variant, well, you have seven colour options, including this, that is the matte
08:52grey, apart from this, there is a dark red colour also, so those two colours are new,
08:56apart from that, seven colour options, one variant and the car is still not launched,
09:00you have to wait for that, so the car will be launching on the 8th of July, so you have
09:05to wait till then and I think Mercedes will be pricing the car really aggressively, so
09:09comment below if you like this car, if you have any queries about this electric vehicle,
09:13please do let us know in the comment section and we will get back to you on that, other
09:16than that, I'm Pramit signing out, see you next time, thanks so much for watching, take
09:19care, be safe and drive safe.
