00:00Bhagwan Shri, when you said that learn to suffer graciously and be calm and firm in
00:11between the suffering, I am saying this is my problem.
00:17I am too much anxious to pass this suffering phase as early as possible.
00:26Because of that, like you are spitting, telling something outrageous is coming from me and
00:38that is the main cause of that threat.
00:42I am realizing several times but it is like it happens.
00:50I am not able to keep that calm.
00:58The reason is that we have a utopian image of a suffering free life.
01:08Somewhere we have been taught this confidence that one day life will be a heavenly bed of
01:23roses or something.
01:27So we take that as a possibility.
01:30We believe that such a thing can happen.
01:33It says that such a thing is not happening with me.
01:39Now that's very frustrating.
01:43You believe that a utopian bliss is indeed possible as it happens in the movies.
01:53What do they say?
01:54And they lived happily ever after.
01:58So you believe that kind of a fancy world indeed can exist and when you find that it
02:09does not exist in your life, it makes you very very frustrated.
02:15That comparison makes you very frustrated and we have internalized that utopia.
02:26Suffering per se is not insufferable.
02:34Suffering per se is not a source of great sorrow or frustration.
02:45It is your state of suffering compared with the utopian heaven that makes you frustrated.
02:59The comparison makes you frustrated.
03:03Now how to keep the comparison aside?
03:08By seeing that the utopia is purely imaginary.
03:13You are not born to be in bliss.
03:22Suffering is an inevitable, ineluctable fact of life.
03:29We are born in suffering, we live in suffering and death is a suffering.
03:40So why do you keep imagining a life without suffering?
03:45Don't imagine that because the more you imagine such a life, the more you suffer and you imagine
03:53such a life in order to reduce or minimize your suffering.
04:01Such an imagination rather than minimizing your suffering only aggravates it.
04:10Do away with the hope that one day you will come to a fabled land where everything is
04:22just perfect.
04:23The apples are perfect, they never get rotten, the water is perfect, the skies are perfect,
04:32the birds and bees are perfect, the lions and the deers are perfect and of course your
04:38darling is perfect, darlings because if there is perfection there ought to be an abundance
04:45of darlings.
04:49That kind of a land doesn't exist.
04:52So drop that hope.
04:55It's a very self-defeating, a very destructive hope.
05:10Take life as it is and then do your best to raise it as much as possible.
05:23Remember you will never succeed in raising it to the best place but you can do your best
05:31to raise it.
05:34Get the right definition of bestness please.
05:38There exists no best place you can raise your life to.
05:44There exists no end point of perfection you can target, no.
05:54Then is life to be spent in mediocrity, no.
05:59In what does excellence lie then?
06:02Excellence lies in doing your best to raise it.
06:06Even if you do your best, there would be no best point you would ever attain.
06:12Just do your best and that's the best thing and if you are doing your best, a strange
06:20thing happens almost miraculously.
06:26You then tend to forget the distance you have covered, the measure of success you have
06:40obtained.
06:43Those considerations become progressively meaningless, why?
06:51Because you have already done your best.
06:53What's the point in measuring your success now?
06:57You anyway couldn't have done anything more or anything better.
07:02You have already done the utmost possible to you.
07:07So then you don't even seek to compare.
07:10You say the best has been done.
07:12I don't even bother to know the result now.
07:18There is no option left to better what I have done.
07:23What I have done is just about the maximum I could do.
07:31That's the best way to live.
