Thousands attend South Australia's largest community-led LEGO exhibition in Adelaide's west
Thousands of people are flocking to Adelaide's west this weekend for South Australia's largest community-led LEGO exhibition. The two-day volunteer-run event offers something for everyone, including sensory sessions for neurodivergent attendees.

00:05We have people that come to this hobby for all sorts of different reasons, and for me
00:11it's a very much, it's a way of relaxing.
00:14The Bricks Bow Lego Convention has been running since 2019, and organisers say it's been a
00:19sell out event ever since.
00:20Almost 200 intricate displays are being showcased in Adelaide this weekend, ranging from original
00:25creations to scenes inspired by major movie franchises like Star Wars and Harry Potter.
00:30We have exhibitors coming from interstate as well, we've had in the past we've also
00:34had exhibitors coming from overseas.
00:36The event aims to be inclusive for all, holding sensory sessions in the morning with dim lighting,
00:40less noise and fewer crowds to give neurodivergent children the chance to explore their love
00:45of Lego.
00:46It's always really well attended and appreciated by the community, I have two autistic sons
00:51myself, so it's a lovely thing to involve them.
00:54For many, it's a chance to share creative ideas.
00:57There's just so much freedom in what you can do with it.
00:59Heaps of fun seeing what all the amazing people have built.
01:01I came here just so I could meet more people who are like me.
01:06And for one builder, it's a way of keeping local history alive, building a model of Glenelg's
01:10historic tram 361, which was removed from Wigley Reserve last year.
01:14After the event, the Lego train will return to its permanent home in Glenelg's Bay Discovery Centre.
01:19Feeling like that had been taken away, that piece of history was taken away, so I thought
01:23I'd create something that's one but also relatable for other kids and adults to enjoy.
01:30Organisers say the Expo is the largest fan-led Lego event in South Australia, with around
01:358,000 people expected here across today and tomorrow.
01:39The excitement here today is shared amongst builders, both young and young at heart.
