00:00Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the references and character
00:12cameos spotted by eagle-eyed Disney fans.
00:16What did she just say?
00:19We don't know.
00:20We can't understand her.
00:21She's from the other studio.
00:22Ah.
00:23Number 30.
00:24Judy's iPod, Zootopia.
00:25You'll need the pause button to appreciate all of these.
00:28As she rides the train from Bunnyboro to Zootopia, Judy Hopps decides to play some tunes on her
00:33iPod.
00:34We just get a brief glimpse of the screen, but the movie manages to pack an impressive
00:38number of puns into those few seconds.
00:41From Caddy Perry to Guns N' Rodents and Hyena Gomez to Mick Jaguar, Judy has some pretty
00:46broad taste in music.
00:48She selects Gazelle, which sounds like a play on Adele, but the character was actually voiced
00:53by Shakira.
01:01Her songs are all pun-tastic versions of Disney hits like Let It Goat and Part of Your Wool.
01:06It's this impressive attention to detail that makes Zootopia such a fan favorite.
01:19Number 29.
01:20Figment, Inside Out.
01:23If you've never been to Disney's Epcot theme park, you might not have recognized this easter
01:26egg.
01:30As Joy, Sadness, and Bing Bong catch the train out of Riley's imagination land, you can see
01:35a painting of a purple dragon in the corner of the screen.
01:38This is Figment, a character who was originally created for Epcot's Journey into Imagination
01:43dark ride.
01:48It's fitting that he would appear here, since Joy and Sadness just took a literal journey
01:52into imagination, and he's not the only Disney character to make a cameo in this land.
01:57At the top of a stack of giant board games is a game called Find Me, with cover art that
02:02looks an awful lot like a certain clownfish.
02:15Number 28.
02:16Dumbo, The Great Mouse Detective.
02:19First off, can we agree that this pre-Disney renaissance film is highly underrated?
02:24Basil, the mouse version of Sherlock Holmes, is investigating the disappearance of Mr.
02:28Flaversham.
02:29He trails a suspect to a human-sized toy shop, where he inspects with the help of his sidekick
02:34Dawson and Flaversham's daughter, Olivia.
02:36Inside, the group finds a bubble-blowing toy in the shape of a familiar elephant.
02:43It's a clever visual reference to a scene from 1941's Dumbo, where the baby elephant
02:48and his mouse friend, Timothy, drink too much champagne.
02:51You also might have recognized one of the members of Professor Rattigan's gang from
02:55another classic Disney movie.
02:59It's Bill the Lizard, also known as the unlucky chimney sweep from Alice in Wonderland.
03:05Number 27.
03:06The Whole Movie, Wish.
03:09Given that this movie was inspired by the Walt Disney Company's 100th anniversary, it makes
03:13sense that it would feature a lot of homages to other Disney properties, but it actually
03:18contained so many references, the writers needed a spreadsheet to keep track of them.
03:22They start in the first minute, as the movie opens with storybook narration just like several
03:26of Disney's early features.
03:37Asha's seven friends represent the seven dwarfs, both in their outfits and in the first letters
03:42of their names.
03:43Asha's robe looks just like Cinderella's fairy godmothers, and her wand also turns
03:48fruit gigantic.
03:50Other Disney classics appear in the townspeople's wishes, including Peter Pan, Mary Poppins,
03:55and The Little Mermaid.
03:56How many more references can you spot?
04:07Number 26.
04:08Buzz Lightyear, Finding Nemo.
04:10This is yet another blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo of a beloved character.
04:15After Nemo is captured from the ocean, he finds himself in an aquarium in a children's
04:19dentist's office.
04:20He's extremely disoriented and looks around the room frantically trying to get his bearings.
04:29For just a moment, we see a Buzz Lightyear toy laying on the floor in front of a toy
04:33chest.
04:34Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that the action figure ever comes to life, at least
04:39not that we see.
04:40If you notice this Easter egg on your first viewing, pat yourself on the back.
04:48Number 25.
04:49Grape Soda Cap, Toy Story 4.
04:52You need extra sharp eyes to spot this one.
04:54Bo Peep has been living life on the edge as a lost toy, keeping a stash of supplies for
04:59emergencies.
05:00Her sheep collect objects for the stash, though they can't seem to tell the difference between
05:04useful items and junk.
05:06As Bo and Woody catch up, the sheep bring Bo a bottle cap, which he immediately rejects.
05:19If you were paying close attention, you might have noticed that the cap is from a grape
05:22soda bottle.
05:23It looks exactly like the one young Ellie gives to Carl when they first meet in Up,
05:28and which Carl later bestows on his new friend, Russell.
05:42Number 24.
05:43Tinkerbell, The Black Cauldron.
05:45It seems like Disney animators can't resist dropping at least one Easter egg into every
05:50movie, even this lesser-known dark adventure film.
05:53Around the halfway point of the story, our heroes happen upon the kingdom of the Fairfolk,
05:58The tiny flying people rush out to inspect their guests, and among them is Disney's most
06:02famous fairy of all.
06:04With that hairstyle and distinctive green dress, there's no doubt that it's Tinkerbell.
06:11She was of course first introduced in 1953's Peter Pan, but Tink has gone on to become
06:15a star in her own right.
06:17She has her own film series, and is almost as much of a face of the franchise as Mickey
06:21Mouse.
06:24Number 23.
06:26Boo's Room, Monsters, Inc.
06:28In this touching scene near the end of the film, Sully finally returns Boo to her bedroom,
06:33where we find not one, not two, but three Pixar Easter eggs among her toys.
06:46On the floor is the famous Luxo ball, which was introduced in the studio's first ever
06:50short film, Luxo Jr.
06:52Boo also has a Jessie doll from Toy Story 2, and a squeaky orange fish that viewers
06:56in 2001 wouldn't recognize yet.
07:07In fact, there are several references to the then-upcoming Finding Nemo in Monsters, Inc.,
07:12including an orange striped fish on Boo's mobile, and one on the wallpaper at Harryhausen's.
07:18Number 22.
07:19The Planet Truck, various Disney movies.
07:22This beat-up yellow vehicle first showed up in the original Toy Story, where Woody and
07:26Buzz use it to snag a ride.
07:30Since then, it's made an appearance in every Pixar movie except The Incredibles, though
07:35it's not always easy to spot.
07:37It's parked outside the same trailer in both A Bug's Life and Monsters, Inc.
07:40In Finding Nemo, you can just barely make it out driving past the dentist's office.
07:45It comes to life in the Cars franchise, and appears as one of Riley's memories in Inside
07:50Out.
07:51Truly sharp viewers of The Good Dinosaur might notice a pizza truck-shaped asteroid in the
07:55opening scene, and it even shows up in medieval Scotland as a wooden toy in The Witch's House
08:00in Brave.
08:04Number 21.
08:05Jock, Trusty, and Peg, Oliver and Company.
08:08In any Disney movie about animals, you can bet animals from some other Disney movie will
08:13make a cameo.
08:14Dodger, who's voiced by Billy Joel, struts through the city streets as he sings his anthem
08:18Why Should I Worry, attracting the attention of every dog in earshot.
08:27Among them are Jock and Trusty, loyal friends of Lady from Lady and the Tramp, and Peg,
08:32a musical dog Lady meets at the animal shelter.
08:35We also see Pongo, protagonist of 101 Dalmatians, although since this takes place in New York
08:40City, that's probably not Roger walking him.
08:54As you'll see, this wasn't the first time these four dogs shared a scene.
08:58Number 20.
08:59Bambi's Mom, Various Disney Movies.
09:02Following the sound of a gunshot, Bambi makes it home while his mother is nowhere to be
09:06found.
09:10It's the last we ever see of Bambi's mother, well, at least in that movie.
09:15Bambi's mom has lived on in several other Disney movies, but you'd need a hunter's
09:19sharp eye to spot her.
09:21A deer resembling Bambi's mother can be found in the opening of Beauty and the Beast, and
09:25the Someone's Waiting for You number from The Rescuers.
09:38Kay hunts a similar-looking deer in The Sword in the Stone, and Shere Khan preys upon a
09:42doe in The Jungle Book, although they thankfully miss their targets.
09:57Given how traumatizing her death was, knowing that she may still be out there eases the
10:02pain a little.
10:03Number 19.
10:04Stitch, Treasure Planet.
10:07In 2002, Disney released two animated films rooted in sci-fi.
10:12Both films also had a certain blue alien in common.
10:19We all know that Experiment 626 played a prominent role in Lilo and Stitch, but his cameo in
10:24Treasure Planet may have flown under your radar.
10:28As a young Jim Hawkins is tucked in by his mother, you'll find a variety of otherworldly
10:32toys on his bedroom shelves.
10:37One of his playthings is a Stitch doll, which appears suited up for intergalactic travel.
10:42Montressor isn't the only planet that Stitch merchandise has invaded.
10:46In Big Hero 6, Hero's cat Mochi can be seen wearing a Stitch outfit in a photo.
10:54Fred not only has a Stitch pillow, but one modeled after Splodeyhead, aka Experiment
10:59619 as well.
11:06Number 18.
11:08Storybooks, Tangled.
11:10At the beginning of Tangled, we see that Rapunzel has been re-reading the same books for the
11:14past 18 years.
11:20When she finally leaves her tower, Rapunzel is not only opened up to new experiences,
11:25but a library of new books as well.
11:28Three classic fairy tales that inspired Disney movies are on display, Beauty and the Beast,
11:33The Little Mermaid, and Sleeping Beauty.
11:35Aside from being a princess, Rapunzel has a few things in common with the protagonists
11:40of these stories.
11:41Like Ariel, she wishes to get out from under a parent's thumb and be where the people
11:45are.
11:46Like Aurora, she's been hidden away for most of her life.
11:50Like Belle, she's eager for adventure and can easily get lost in a good book.
11:55Number 17.
11:56Disney Characters at Busy Intersection, Wreck-It Ralph.
12:04If you want to catch every hidden reference in Wreck-It Ralph, you're going to be up
12:08all night.
12:09As Ralph makes his way through Game Central Station, numerous video game characters can
12:13be seen in the background.
12:15However, a couple of Disney characters make cameos as well.
12:19Both Maximus and Vladimir from Tangled pop up, along with Tiny the T-Rex from Meet the
12:24Robinsons.
12:31In another scene, you can spot a paper from the Oscar-winning short Paper Man, which coincidentally
12:36accompanied Wreck-It Ralph during its theatrical run.
12:42Does this mean that all these Disney characters are actually part of the arcade universe?
12:47Number 16.
12:48An Arabian Night in New Orleans, The Princess and the Frog.
12:52The Princess and the Frog marked Ron Clements and John Musker's return to Disney feature
12:57animation, so it only makes sense that the directing duo would throw in a few references
13:01to their previous films.
13:03During the Down in New Orleans number, a character from A Whole Other World makes a sneaky cameo.
13:17As you can tell from its pattern, the rug being shaken out over the balcony is none
13:21other than Aladdin's magic carpet.
13:24Carpet seems to be full of dust, or maybe that's sand from its last adventure in Agrabah.
13:29Later, as Mama Odie is telling our heroes to dig a little deeper, she digs out the genie's
13:34magic lamp.
13:35You know, Tiana and Naveen could have just used that to become human again.
13:45Number 15.
13:46Mrs. Potts and Chip, Tarzan.
13:49As Tarzan's jungle friends stumble upon the porter's camp, they find themselves surrounded
13:54by modern innovations.
14:01Among their belongings is a tea set, which includes a white and purple teapot, as well
14:06as a chipped teacup.
14:08Where Mrs. Potts and Chip were full of life, however, these domestic objects appear to
14:12be devoid of life.
14:14Maybe it's like in the Beauty and the Beast remake, where if the enchantress's spell isn't
14:18broken, the castle servants all become permanently inanimate.
14:35If that's the case, then Tarzan may be a much darker film than we initially realized.
14:47Number 14.
14:49Dogs to the Rescue, 101 Dalmatians.
14:56As the title suggests, 101 Dalmatians has no shortage of canine characters.
15:08Since the film packs in so many dogs, you likely never noticed that several Lady and
15:12the Tramp characters make appearances.
15:18When their 15 puppies are dog-napped, Pongo and Perdita use the twilight bark to spread
15:23the word.
15:29Jock the Scottish Terrier is one of the first pooches to receive this news.
15:42The gossip eventually reaches a pet store where Peg the Pekingese resides.
15:46Even the eponymous Lady and Tramp get in on the action, although they're both draped
15:50in darkness.
15:51It's a dog-eat-dog world out there.
15:54Well, at least these Disney dogs are looking out for each other.
16:03Number 13.
16:05Nani's Poster, Lilo & Stitch.
16:14Lilo & Stitch and Mulan might seem like two completely different Disney movies.
16:18However, these animated features share a similar theme regarding the bonds of family.
16:30In order to protect her father during wartime, Mulan must disguise herself as a man.
16:35When her mom and dad die in a car crash, Nani must act as a parental figure to her little
16:40sister Lilo.
16:48Both Mulan and Nani find themselves taking on roles they weren't prepared for.
16:52Yet, both of these strong women ultimately keep their families together.
16:57Because of this, it makes sense that Nani would have an inspirational Mulan poster hanging
17:01in her room.
17:02It wouldn't be surprising if Mulan Wok turned out to be her favorite restaurant too.
17:09Number 12.
17:10Build-A-Baymax, Frozen 2.
17:13During her childhood, Elsa conjures up a snowy enchanted forest for her and Anna to play
17:17with.
17:24The playset comes complete with a few icy dolls, although one looks like he belongs
17:28in San Fransokyo rather than Arendelle.
17:31Although he can easily be mistaken for another snowman, true Disney fans will notice Baymax's
17:37distinctive marshmallow-like physique.
17:39Granted, we're not entirely sure what a high-tech robot is doing in a fairytale setting like
17:44this.
17:46Then again, Elsa is kind of a superhero, what with her ice powers and mysterious origin
17:51story.
17:52So, maybe a Frozen crossover with Big Hero 6 isn't as far-fetched as it sounds.
17:57Elsa also made an elephant snow doll with oversized ears.
18:04Definitely a dead ringer for Dumbo.
18:07Number 11.
18:08The Fox and the Rabbit meet Breaking Bad, Zootopia.
18:12Zootopia was made just as much for adults as it was for kids.
18:15As such, the writers snuck in a few references exclusively for older audiences.
18:27During their investigation, Judy and Nick infiltrate a secret lab where a suspicious
18:31sheep is wearing a yellow jumpsuit while whipping up a blue serum.
18:35If you've seen Breaking Bad, it's impossible not to make the connection to Heisenberg's
18:39illegal operation.
18:41Given the similarities, the filmmakers could not resist throwing in a nod to the AMC series.
18:53The chemist is in cahoots with two others named Jesse and Walter.
18:57No, not Walter.
18:59Walter.
19:00Get it?
19:01Because they're Rams.
19:02At test screenings, the directors always looked forward to hearing adults laugh at this joke,
19:06while the kiddies were none the wiser.
19:09Number 10.
19:10Salted Snowman, Moana.
19:13Moana and Maui run into a few familiar faces on high seas, although most of them blend
19:18into the background.
19:19It's hard to tell because there are so many, but one kakamora modeled its mask after Baymax.
19:29When Maui attempts to turn himself into a giant hawk, he instead takes the form of several
19:34other animals, including a certain reindeer.
19:41In addition to Sven, Olaf is a long way away from Arendelle.
19:45While the snowman himself doesn't appear, some of his body parts are visible as Moana
19:49loads up her raft before departing from Motunui.
19:58Beside his stick arms, Olaf's carrot nose is in a basket with other fruits and veggies.
20:04Does this mean that Olaf melted?
20:05If so, remember, water has memory.
20:18Number 9.
20:19Follow the Signs, Beauty and the Beast.
20:22It's no wonder Maurice and Philippe got lost in the woods.
20:34We couldn't read the words on those smeared signs either, at least not at first.
20:37Upon further inspection, you'll see that Maurice was even further off course than he
20:42thought.
20:43Ramona, Saugus, Newhall, Valencia and Anaheim are written on the signs, meaning that Maurice
20:48somehow ended up en route to Southern California.
20:56Many Disney animators live around these areas, and Disneyland is even located in Anaheim.
21:02We guess that means Sleeping Beauty's castle is only a short trip away from the Beast's
21:06castle.
21:07Indeed, it is a small world after all.
21:10Number 8.
21:11Duke Weaselton's Bootleg DVDs, Zootopia.
21:19In the midst of a case, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde interrogate a petty criminal named Duke
21:23Weaselton.
21:25This crooked weasel makes a living selling bootleg DVDs, all of which send up other CGI
21:30Disney movies.
21:32In addition to Pig Hero 6, Wrangled and Wreck-It Rhino, Weaselton has copies of Disney movies
21:37that had yet to come out at the time of Zootopia's release.
21:41There's Miowanna, Floatzin 2 and Giraffic, mimicking the then-upcoming Moana, Frozen
21:472 and the now-canceled Gigantic respectively.
22:00On top of these ingenious in-jokes, the voice behind Duke Weaselton is Alan Tudyk, who also
22:08played the Duke of Weselton in Frozen.
22:11Elsa might not be around to ice this weasel, but Mr. Big is.
22:20Number 7.
22:21Guests at Elsa's Coronation, Frozen.
22:27Elsa's Coronation attracts royalty from all over the wonderful world of Disney.
22:32As the guards open up the gates, you can clearly see Rapunzel and Flynn Rider from Tangled
22:36among the countless guests.
22:43Anna doesn't interact with any of these characters, although she does run into the hunky Prince
22:48Hans.
22:49While Hans looks like a dream come true, he turns out to be a nightmare.
22:55Maybe that's why he winds up on a wanted poster in Big Hero 6, which came out one year
23:00after Frozen.
23:06Number 6.
23:07Genie's Book of Recipes, Aladdin.
23:15At the time of its release, Aladdin was quite possibly the most self-aware Disney movie
23:19ever made.
23:21So as you can imagine, this animated comedy works in a ton of references and in-jokes.
23:31In one instance, a beast figure can be found among the Sultan's Tower of Toys.
23:36Yet the film's funniest Easter egg comes courtesy of the Genie as he looks over a recipe for
23:41Alaskan King Crab.
23:45Sebastian from The Little Mermaid subsequently pops up, clamping down on Genie's finger.
23:51The song Under the Sea is briefly played in the background as well.
24:01Seeing how Ron Clements and John Musker directed both Aladdin and The Little Mermaid, this
24:05cameo must have been too appetizing to resist.
24:11Number 5.
24:12The Troll's Clothing, Enchanted.
24:16At the beginning of this satirical fairy tale, the animated maiden Giselle is nearly devoured
24:21by a hungry troll.
24:23Fortunately, Prince Edward and Pip the Chipmunk save the damsel in distress.
24:34While the troll doesn't gobble up Giselle, a subtle Easter egg suggests that he's probably
24:38eaten a few other princesses.
24:40The troll's loincloth is comprised of iconic dresses that belong to Snow White, Cinderella,
24:45Aurora and Belle.
24:47His earrings are also shells from Ariel's bikini, hinting that he had a hankering for
24:51seafood.
24:52Could it be that this troll ate some of our favorite Disney princesses?
24:56That almost sounds like something out of Shrek.
24:58Come to think of it, the troll does share a resemblance to the Green Ogre.
25:09Number 4.
25:10So Many Characters Out There, The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
25:25Quasimodo wants nothing more than to leave his sanctuary and explore the outside world.
25:31As the lonely hunchback observes the streets of Paris, we're treated to three awesome Easter
25:36eggs in the blink of an eye.
25:37With her nose stuck in a book, Belle from Beauty and the Beast seemingly wandered away
25:41from her provincial French village and arrived at Notre Dame.
25:45She walks right by a peasant who appears to be holding Aladdin's magic carpet.
25:49We also get a glimpse of two men carrying a warthog, which looks suspiciously like Pumbaa
25:54from The Lion King.
26:01Speaking of Pumbaa, he makes another cameo in the form of a gargoyle as Quasimodo and
26:06Frollo fight atop the cathedral.
26:08But where's Timon?
26:12Number 3.
26:13Skarsgård for Hercules, Hercules.
26:20Believe it or not, it's possible that Hercules and The Lion King took place around the same
26:24time period.
26:25During the battle for Pride Rock, the treacherous Skar falls to his demise and is ripped to
26:30shreds by his hyena minions.
26:35What happened to Skar's remains?
26:36Well, look no further than Hercules' lion skin.
26:43It appears Zazu was right.
26:45Skar would make a very handsome throw rug.
26:51If that's not enough to blow your mind, it's also possible that the muses from Hercules
26:56were inspired by the singing busts from the Haunted Mansion ride at the Disney parks.
27:11In any case, there's no denying that Hercules has plenty of clever easter eggs to go around.
27:20Number 2.
27:21Oh My Disney, Ralph Breaks the Internet.
27:36This movie has too many awesome easter eggs to count, although the best can be found in
27:40the Oh My Disney sequence.
27:42Even then, you'd need to freeze every frame to fully appreciate the attention to detail.
27:47This scene is a love letter to everything Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Muppets, and, of
27:52course, Disney.
27:57For anyone who's ever dreamed of seeing Dumbo soar through the sky with Iron Man, Judy Hopps
28:02chatting with Rocket Raccoon, or all the Disney princesses in one place, this scene has got
28:08you covered.
28:09You'll also find Mickey, Stormtroopers, Eve, Baymax, Buzz Lightyear, Baby Groot, Humphrey
28:17the Bear, Ranger Woodlure, R2-D2, Nick Wilde, Grumpy, Peter Pan's Shadow, Tinkerbell, and
28:24Hey Hey, amongst others.
28:30There's even room for a Stan Lee cameo.

28:52Hidden Mickeys – Various Disney Movies
29:00When people think of Disney, Mickey Mouse immediately comes to mind.
29:04Thus, it's only natural that the company's mascot would make cameos in various movies.
29:09Over the years, Mickey has dropped by the Powerline concert in a Goofy movie.
29:13He's visited King Triton's Palace, along with Donald Duck and Goofy.
29:17Though he's not sitting with them, the Muppets' Kermit the Frog is also part of this underwater
29:22audience.
29:23There's also a Mickey doll for sale at the trading post in Frozen.
29:27You can additionally find the Mickey Mouse icon hidden in many locations, such as the
29:31library from Beauty and the Beast.
