00:00Congratulations. What are your feelings right now?
00:03I feel delighted, a little bit overwhelmed that the people of Tipton, Wensbury and Cosley have put their trust in me.
00:10I know there are loads of people out there today who will have chosen Labour for the first time.
00:15I won't let you down. For all of those people who have come back to Labour, we changed the Labour Party for a reason.
00:22And that reason is to bring change to our country.
00:25And that's the big thing you've spoken about in your speech, about change, not just around here but across the country as well.
00:31That's right. The results tonight show that this country has chosen change and it's chosen Keir Starmer and Angela Rayner's Labour Party.
00:41Because we know that after 14 years of the Conservatives, our country, so much of our country is broken and we need Labour to start the work of fixing it.
00:54How quickly do you want to get to work? Basically start in a few hours' time?
00:58Starting in a few hours' time. I'm going to need to get some sleep first. Not a lot of sleep in the last 24 hours.
01:05But the work starts right now. We're looking forward to a Labour government, I can't believe I'm saying that,
01:13a Labour government after 14 long years with a clear and costed plan to start to rebuild our economy, get more money in people's pockets.
01:23Now there isn't a magic wand to wave but we are going to start right now.
